drinking something called a "grapeful eight" grape lactose sour. bought it out of curiosity because I've never had a lactose sour before. It's.... okay? Tastes sort of like a grape jolly rancher. I do get some kind of milky(?) notes from the lactose. This brewery usually does good sours so I guess this is just a misstep/not for me. Also EFN/other tc brewers if you could explain why lactose in sours is a thing now I'd appreciate it. otherwise and happy trashin'!

lactose isn't fermentable so it adds sweetness and body. it also makes my body do bad bathroom things but that's beside the point why these have gotten popular, I don't know? I guess people like beer that tastes more like a smoothie than a beer
