Rick Springfield has a ridiculous Kenner Star Wars collection.

Yeah he evidently bought almost all of them new at the time because he liked the art and designs.

I interviewed him once many, many years ago before his Star Wars collecting was really known and had some conversation about it because I had some vintage Star Wars pins on my bag when such things weren’t easily found or popular. He is a surprisingly really nice, down to earth guy unlike a lot of celebrities.

It’s a highly exclusive event where the participants only deal action figures of WWE Superstar Kane. An MOC Maximum Sweat Kane graded at 9.6 recently sold at auction there for $1.4 million.

I just look for the cheapest ones on Amazon. I've gotten all different sizes. I recently bought another set of 9 risers for $16, 3 sets of 3", 4" and 5" tall. Just search "acrylic risers" on Amazon, pay attention to the heights and pick the heights you want that are the cheapest. Seriously, these things probably cost pennies to produce and more expensive does not mean better quality at all.

edit: eBay is a good place to search too, but can't beat Prime shipping. :capitalism:

Any other fans of Atlanta (the TV series)? Pretty soon we'll have 3/4 of the cast in 6" format:

Earn Marks (Donald Glover) -- Star Wars Black Series Lando Calrissian (Solo movie wave)
Van (Zazie Beetz) -- Marvel Legends Domino (Deadpool 2 movie wave)
Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry) -- Marvel Legends Phastos (Eternals movie wave)

And I feel like it is only a matter of time before Lakeith Stanfield appears in something where he gets an action figure made.

I was gonna skip the Eternals wave but I can't resist having 3/4 of Atlanta's cast as action figures.

Hahah, thanks. I’m really not sure what I’m gonna do if they keep releasing the things. I can move a few of the/non Smash ones on the very last shelf off, but after that...

We’ve got Min Min, Steve/Alex, Sephiroth, and then Pyra//Mythra. I think they’ll just barely fit.

Not having kids helps. :v:

I’m in South Florida, which has a high cost of living but our townhouse was under $300k, and we’ve refinanced twice, so our mortgage is about $1800 a month. Not much more than our one bedroom apartment when we first moved in together. And with 2020 meaning no traveling or eating out or tolls or gas...I had some disposable income.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. :unsmith:

I don't have kids! I live in DC where $300k *might* get you a one-bedroom condo in an old building unless I move out to the suburbs and lmao at that.

(We have been vaguely looking and we could probably afford a smaller two-bedroom townhouse in a less nice neighborhood than we live now, but having lived together for less than a year at this point, we're not ready to be buying together.)

Search “acrylic risers” on Amazon or eBay. Pay attention to the heights you want and then buy the absolute cheapest you find because they’re all the same.

I'm doing some refinishing work on my Batsuit Closet and then I'll have a big post with the latest photos of my TDK collection.

But for now, some props from Tenet! Yes, the movie has some serious problems with character motivations, as well as being emotionally cold and the audio mixing was a disaster. But the plot mechanic is just so damned fun and what can I say? I guess I just like making props from Nolan movies.

First there's the thing that seemingly everyone has, the backpack charm, which the script describes as a talisman. At first I thought this was just a wash on some paracord. But it's actually a 1943 British India 1 Pice coin on some sacred Hindu Mauli Kalawa thread.

Some folks on the RPF tracked down the specific mask JDW wears in the inverted Tallinn car chase scene. But what good is that without an inverted air tank? So after some researched I decided what they probably used was this avalanche safety airbag canister made by Snowpulse. I bought a new one, depressurized it, sawed off some bits, added some others, and rubberized the top. Polished it up and built the holster strap and belt clip.

Still not completely satisfied, I had to have a piece of the Algorithm. So here's my Plutonium 241* carved from a single 5lb block of aluminum. Finishing and weathering this was tremendous fun. I found the correct orange Pelican case for it... but I kinda don't want to hide it away inside something else.

Bonus Red Room / Blue Room photo

*I've seen samples of encapsulation in every weapons class. This is not Plutonium**

**It's worse than that, goddammit.
