Reminds me of a friend of mine who got a dog when she moved to the city. She would take it out to pee during her daily runs. When I came to visit I offered to walk the dog and as we went the dog is penguin waddling and pissing at the same time. Leaving a trail down the sidewalk and happily carrying on. When I stopped to give her time, she just looked at me confused. So, for my friend it never occurred to her she had to stop to let the poor dog pee so the dog learned to piss and poo poo on the move. My horror when I realized that means she never picked up after the dog either, just kept jogging.

While that's weird thing to never consider doing for a city dog, it's how sled dogs do it. Found that out while directly behind them

When I was young my family went for a hike at a national park and like usual we brought our dog along. One time as we were walking on the trail while she was on a leash trailing behind us she went to take a poo poo, no one noticed, and my stepdad did basically that to her. For whatever reason she took that to mean that's how she should ALWAYS poo poo and from then on she would have to be walking if she took a poo poo. Even if it was in our backyard and she wasn't on a leash she would poo poo like a horse. This happened later in her life so it wasn't like she was a puppy and just picked this up, she was around 10 at the time.

Had a pitbull that would do this at the shelter that I volunteer at. Never on a fence, trees and light posts though, and it was a pain to cleanup. First time was a real wtf moment.

I'm pretty sure the "guilty" plea for animal cruelty for that came from them finding drugs when they tossed his house, and them tossing out that for the much lighter (in Joe Arpaio's Maricopa) animal cruelty sentence. I know there was a 2014 hoax "satire" article that reignited the idea, but all I can find is him being on tour while they raided in 2007 and the "caretaker" he left with the dogs basically neglecting the gently caress out of them.
