Meh. It's weird cause it doesn't seem to link to the larger Marvel Universe until the end and that's kinda unsatisfying. And it doesn't appear to have gone anywhere.

It was 4 issues on Marvel Unlimited and took me like 30 minutes to read, so if you're interested...

I kinda liked the idea of Warlock becoming a mentor to a younger version of himself. It's certainly more interesting than anything Starlin has done with him since the original Infinity Gauntlet.

Yeah, but what I got out of it was making the moral decision is hard, good luck!, which is why I wasn't satisfied.

I haven't read the series, but are you referring to Her aka Ayesha aka Kismet aka Paragon? She's the female version of Adam Warlock who was made by the same people he was because they didn't learn their lesson the first time around. She's been a D-lister bouncing around forever and whenever she does turn up the writer doesn't realize that she's already picked out a name other than Her so they give her a new one. Her best(?) use was in Quasar where she was a supporting cast member for a while. She also is in the second Guadians of the Galaxy movie, reworked to be the leader of the fold aliens. Not much of a surprise since Gunn seemed to like his deep cuts.

How many times can that be said of characters in comics!

I picked up Batman: Dark Victory because it has been ages since I have read it and I love Tim Sales artwork. I know it is the sequel to Long Halloween which I enjoyed and read a few times but the ending always left me a bit confused so I am going to post my question here. Warning though my question has to do with the killer so if you don't want the ending spoiled for you stop reading here.

In the end it is revealed that the killer is Alberto Falcone, however it is hinted that the killer was also Harvey Dent, whos wife believed him to be the killer so much that it is also hinted that she is the killer as well carrying on Harvey Dent's kill list. I don't remember it being resolved at all whether there were multiple Holiday Killers or not, and if there were does that mean that Batman never fully solved the case?

Yeah, Long Halloween doesn't make any sort of sense, but I just think it's part of the pulp tradition of the author not planning out the ending.

Raymond Chandler is considered one of the greatest writers of detective fiction ever and even he couldn't tell you who killed the chauffer in The Big Sleep, his most famous work.

The last time I saw U.S. Agent in a comic was in Thunderbolts and he was a prison warden in a wheelchair. I don't really follow Marvel anymore, but I saw that he's got a new ongoing series, so... how / when did he get his body restored?

There was another Thunderbolts where he supervised a bunch of Norman Osborn's former associates, including that one lady with poison fingernails and antiseptic saliva. They went to another dimension and his body got reassembled in some kind of clone meat machine formerly owned by an evil scientist. I don't really remember the details.

It's pretty funny that poo poo like that is so rote in comics that it basically becomes 'Hey remember that girl you dated in middle school? Yeah she's a doctor now... also had 3 kids or something crazzy"

"Ey why's Betty Asian allufa sudden?"
She went through a magic crystal or something? I don't remember the details.

Uhm, how the gently caress do you pronounce those words where they aren't incredibly similar?

Oh god, this is another version of people not thinking Squirrel Girl rhymes, isn't it? British people are so insane about pronunciation it's amazing they ever made any poetry.

Rhyming is not an essential component of poetry, which is why you can put squirrel on one line and follow it with girl.

To avoid this problem you should just do what bands like Black Sabbath does and rhyme the same word. Example: generals gather in their masses/just like witches as black masses. See it rhymes.

I mean, to we Americans Squirrel Girl rhymes but that's really only because of our accents. If the English really lay into that "e" in Squirrel we can't blame them. It's English. They're English. That's just how those words are supposed to sound and it's our accents that make us think that squirrel and girl rhyme when they really shouldn't. Like at the end of that Outkast song "Elevators" when Andre 3000 rhymes "Virginia" with "continue." Those words only rhyme if you have Andre's particular accent.

Anyway, I picked up a couple of Squirrel Girl hardcovers at Ollie's the other day for super cheap, but haven't read them yet. One's an OSHC and the other is SG Beats Up The Marvel Universe. Is this stuff any good?
