Well, a nice start, if only because they don't waste time, they directly introduce the conflict between the heroes and the new alliance of enemies with the demon obviously plotting to setup the Demonic Invasion. But there was a lots of warning focusing on the leaf-cristals, with the whole "were you take to touch it, you could be transported to some other ramdom world!" makes me think that's precisely what's going to happen next episode.

I was very anxious that the whole episode was just going to be all setup and fight tease right before credits and then was promptly reminded why TBF is goat By the way, was this dead guy that Lin was talking to at the very beginning someone from earlier in the series?

That wizard woman from 200 years ago is 100% going to be the spirit trapped inside Seven Blasphemous Deaths. They're going to accidentally release her somehow. The heart in her hair gives it away. Awesome opening episode. Best Girl Kei Gai was so nice to see again. I love her voice and how she's puppeteered.  Kinda surprised to see Lin paying any kind of tribute or respect to Screaming Phoenix Killer at the beginning but it was a cool callback. I wish they would just let Ken use a loving spear. He's so much better with it. I hope this season he just says gently caress it and goes back to it. Where is Tan Hi?!?!?! She better not only show up at the end. New bug guys are pretty cool. I like magic sickle mantis dude but his hair is stupid. Glad to see evil creepy obsessive princess from Sei Yu again. She's a great character and it's cool that we'll be seeing stuff happening on the other side of the Wasteland this season. Yay my favorite show is back!

Weird question, how is TBF doing on Bilibili, or the mainland? Because god drat this show is highly political and skewering their orthodoxy: there are multiple Chinas, that's no big deal, and anyone trying to reunite all of China by force just so they can "negotiate" with demons probably bad news.

Hell yeah, I am extremely here for magitech hermit from beyond time and space. Also, were those actual fire effects in that fight scene? I'd normally assume it's just CG, but I know how much the studio loves physical effects and those seemed like like some realistic oil spreads there.

By the way, I had to roll my eyes when Shang calls the new bad guy as using shortcuts to gain true power (typical of bad guys, or something to that effect), when he sees he uses both magic and swordmanship. You would think learning and practicing both is HARDER, not easier. BRB, going to watch Ep 2 now.

They're casting 'make my sword stab people' spells rather than learning how to stab people properly. Shang also has a whole thing about how the act of killing should be difficult and unpleasant - hence his blunt wooden sword.
