Budget stores like B&M or Home Bargains often have big bags of unsweetened muesli. I just wish I could find one that doesn't have raisins in it. Oat milk goes nicely with muesli.

I'd no idea Ricicles were no more. RIP Captain Rik.

I went to the pub yesterday and that sweet sweet golden pint was very very good. On the downside it was a nice day so I bought a 20 deck of cigs as a treat and, in my hubris and enjoyment of the beer and the sun, managed to smoke most of them. My throat feels like it's full of spiders. loving idiot I am

That looks like a good project for a d&t class. Mixed metal and wood, some lathework, some metal forming, probably braze something in the middle of it.

To be contentious

Oat milk (or oat drink as it now legally has to be called because if a butthurt farmers lobby) is the best milk alternative for sure but I can't stand it with oat cereals. It's too much. Swap in some soy for that.

Also raisins are great and I will gladly take them from your muesli bags

do any shops sell soy milk et al in normal sized recyclable containers like regular milk, rather than those stupid 1L tetra-pak things that have to go in the bin? if so i'd happily switch away from dairy

New Fudge Release!

I’m very happy to announce several new flavours are now live and available on my storefront! I’ve gone a bit experimental this time; there are four brand new flavours to try out, as well as significant stock of other favourites.

New flavours are:

Lemon Meringue Pie - Lemon flavoured fudge is combined with candied organic lemon peel and chunks of crunchy meringue. This is a particular favourite of mine- it basically tastes like a bar of lemon curd!

Strawberries And Cream - A new twist on a popular flavour from last year (and indeed my very first cook!), this is made with an obscene amount of clotted cream and dried strawberries. Very soft, and richly decadent even by my standards!

Mint Chocolate - By popular request! My high-grade milk chocolate fudge is enhanced further with a deliciously cool minty finish that lingers for a while.

Salted Caramel - A new twist on another old favourite, this is a combination of rich creamy sweetness and a salty edge to cut through it.

There are also stocks remaining of the following flavours:

Cherry Bakewell (very limited supply!)
Original Vanilla
Pretzelicious
Vegan Cookie
Dark Chocolate

All flavours are available at https://www.fudjit.co.uk

Cheers all, and happy fudging!

innocent do oat milk in a recyclable bottles, no idea of they do soy as well

Since switching to (oatly) oat milk a few months back that's now what tastes 'normal' to me over regular milk, though do agree its a bit much on cereal. Works well in porridge or overnight oats though

My wife gets oak milk delivered in glass bottles from our local milkman (https://www.mcqueensdairies.co.uk/). She likes it in her cereal and tea, but if I am making her vegan pancakes, I use soya milk because oat doesn't work very well for them. She loves my vegan pancakes.

FYI, the milkman does milk, orange juice and oat milk. He doesn't do soya milk in glass bottles, so we get tetra pak soya from the shops.

FYI2, I make myself real pancakes with eggs and milk.

On a separate note, I was quite disappointed while shopping today:

Also, FYI3, I was using the Quick Check app on my phone and had to swipe away from it to take this photo.

I have no idea if our milkman is a man, nor if he has a float. He comes at around 5am on Tuesday and Friday mornings, we never see nor hear from him, he collects the empty bottles from behind a flower pot on the front porch and leaves behind full ones.

So... oat flour then? I might experiment with that, our local shop that sells bulk-produce-in-BYO-containers should have some. They certainly have all other kinds of flour (and tea, they do decent loose leaf breakfast tea).

Yup, I don’t know if it can be substituted for other flour although I see no reason why you wouldn’t use it for biscuits.

While a grain platform can be used for corn, a specialized corn head is ordinarily used instead.

Managed to nab a couple pints after work with my old man. Very good, missed sitting in a beer garden in the sun after work.

Killer Mike from Run The Jewels did a Netflix series a couple of years back, Trigger Warning.

Despite the name it's not about triggering anybody, just taking a satirical look at the issues affecting black Americans today. One of the episodes was about vocational training. He decided to help Americans learn practical life skills using their favourite streaming platform - PornHub.

He hired a bunch of porn actors and uploaded instructional videos showing how to do basic plumbing and other home repairs while loving. I'm not a big fan of American comedy, but that was some of the funniest stuff I've seen in a long time.

When I was doing the dumb low-carb thing I would make breakfast pancakes from a mashed banana and a couple of eggs whisked together. It was surprisingly good. I imagine doing the same with added oaty dust would be better still.
