Originally back in gen 1 they had the characters predesigned so I wouldn't be surprised if they had avatars left over from previous eras where they were more authoritarian regarding their talents looks.

We know from the Gen3 casting call that they were predesigned up to that point. The call for those two (march 2020) happened before Gen5 (august 2020), which didn't have a casting call. If anyone else is watching the Gura Unarchived Karaoke its SO scuffed. For her "last song" (after like 4 attempts) she decided against "Whole New World" and decided on "September" but she kept drifting into the Macross Delta mashup and decided to stop and just try to sing the Macross Delta Song "rune ga pikatto" alone, and NOW she's just looking for a totally different song to be her last.
