I was trying to setup a quick and dirty gaming computer for my brother to play on for a few, but I couldn't get it to boot at all. Its a Pentium E2140 (dual core Conroe) on an ASUS p5vd2-mx se. It boots fine with the old Radeon HD 5450 I have in it, and with a brand new power supply. After plugging in any of my newer cards, it just doesn't boot. Including two different brands of Geforce 710s, or the 1080 I was trying to use. All cards are fully working. My understanding was PCIe was fully compatible backward and forward, is that the case?
