Honestly it's a harmless kink especially compared to the usual poo poo you see in anime. Just let people who want to be bullied enjoy their show, Sheesh.

It's not for me either but I'm glad people are enjoying it.

--

Nomad is my anime of the season so far. As someone else said, it feels a lot more confident than the first season and I'm really enjoying it.

I'm also watching some other stuff but nothing particularly good. At this point MHA really has established a world where you're rooting for the villains, and it's pacing is still glacial, but I've not completely lost interest yet.

Combatants will be dispatched is pure trash and I'll probably drop it soon.

Zombieland saga is still finding it's feet but so far it's not as fun as the first season.

SSSS.Dynazenon is silly and has a faster pace than gridman, but I don't have any of the nostalgia associated with this franchise so I'm struggling to stay engaged.

All in all it should be a good season but other than nomad there's not much I'm actually looking forward to every week.

I have to disagree on you there. I've been enjoying the hell out of it so far, especially episode 2.

Evening, patrolmaaan.
I’m enjoying Zombie Land Saga too, but I think that the first season had such a strong start with the opening and then the rap episode being literally the second episode that it was always going to be really difficult for the first two episodes of a second season to match it.

d4dj had a rap episode that was 10x better than the zombieland one and none of you fuckers watched it

d4dj's rap episode features ZAQ (person who did the flipflappers op) and one of ZAQ's real life-friends dissing on each other about their actual real lives, complete with a dunk about how nobody's singing the flipflappers op at karaoke

D4DJ flew under the radar as a whole back in the fall season, since it started late and didn't really have much substance with a low-stakes mostly drama free story, but carried it through well. Since it's free on youtube (with dubs available as well), it's an easy watch too.

There are absolutely lovingly rendered shots of that Super Cub every episode, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that they had one in the studio to look at whenever they wanted.

Finally got around to checking out Vivy and man, it's easily the best thing this season imo. I really like the slow-burn intensity it has going and the basic description, while technically accurate, really sells it short of what it really is.

My only complaint with Vivy is they needed a better visual tell for the 15-year timeskip between episodes 2 and 3. It's a little too same-y to the initial time period until they spell it out. Otherwise it's been fantastic so far.

You're supposed to infer it from The fact that there's more AI's milling about that look more like Vivy. Although I must say the bit at the end of episode 2 where the Bear is containing her with the construction robot is a bit jarring but I suppose it makes sense she'd try to sneakily rescue Momoka and Matsumoto immediately acts to stop her my current theory is Vivy is currently sentient and has been the moment Matsumoto was sent to her, because Vivy is the result of repeated timeloops of trying to avert the AI rebellion and each time Matsumoto is sent back carries with him all of the accumulated data to bootstrap her consciousness/will which leads her to making more and more independent decisions driven by her own desires to save people; sorta like West World but with Time Travel.

Uhhh, she's always been sentient. They all are. It's the whole crux of them being AI's. The only difference from a human mind with AI's in the show is they have a defining goal to keep them on-task. Vivy's mandate is to sing, but the manner in which she expresses it is still her choice. Estella's was to be a caretaker, becoming the manager of the space hotel was just how she expressed it because it allowed her to care for so many humans.

It's really just more of season 1. Two-episode story arcs where one of the girls isn't sure if she's really motivated to be a member of Franchouchou, but then she is because the girls really care about each other.

I'm really enjoying Higehiro. For some men you just reach a point in your life where casual sex is nothing compared to ironed shirts and hot meals that aren't from the Lawson down the street, and Sayu is starting to learn that fact.

I think Idol stuff is fine, generally. If the statement from someone who quite likes something is "a lot of people are not going to like this," my first thought going into it is going to be "this probably isn't very good." After all, I'm a part of "a lot of people."

Like, if I recommended an anime by saying "well most people think this show is utter crap, but I thought it was fine," you wouldn't exactly be tripping over yourself to watch it, would you?
