The new Darkthrone is really sticking with me. It feels like a new sound to me, fuzzy and black and heavy; it’s their first album in years I’ve been really impressed with. Anyone else digging it, or have any other recommendations for a similar style to this so I can dig deeper? edit: on today’s listen I realized it sounds like a slower venom or bathory. it's probably too soon for me to even bother putting anything out there yet, but i recently started noodling around with a midi keyboard i bought and slapped together a short dungeon synth track that i put on bandcamp. i would be super grateful if anyone wanted to spend a minute and a half to give it a listen (and even more so if you had any pointers or feedback)! it's definitely far from great, but i wanted to get the creative juices flowing and get a feel for using the software and figuring out song structure. https://vangor.bandcamp.com/

I dig the melody and the sound of the patches you use here. I think you could really use something on the lower end; maybe some kind of drone-y pads or deep bass or chime sound? I also feel like you could take more time developing the melody but OTOH the structure you do have strikes me as very dungeon-synthy.

hey thanks so much for taking the time to listen and write some thoughts! i def agree some low end is needed and more thought could be put into the melodies. i kinda plucked away at some keys and tried to make them fit without taking as much time as i probably should have to develop something more cohesive. def a learning lesson!
