What’s caused the mavs offense to drop from greatest of all time to solidly good this year? Seth curry? Or has everyone else caught up?

What about luka in the AI role surrounded by 4 great defenders? It seems like he’s pretty good at manufacturing offense.

Going from Curry to J-Rich is part of it but I think the biggest thing for the Mavs was Dwight Powell's achilles injury. Which maybe sounds like a joke but I'm serious, the Luka-Powell pick and roll was absolutely unstoppable last year, as Powell is/was the team's best lob guy and screen setter, and it created a ton of room for Luka in the paint. Teams had to choose between guarding the lob, stopping Luka, or sending help from the perimeter, and any of those options left something avaiable for Luka, either scoring or playmaking. I think it shows up in both Luka's shot selection (massive increase in mid-range) and finishing at the rim.

WCS, unbelievably, is part of some of the Mavs best offensive lineups just by virtue of being a tall guy who runs to the rim after setting a screen most of the time, even though he's not nearly as good as Powell at those things

This is probably a stupid thing to say because how many teams wouldn't that don't otherwise have HOF centers, but I wish I could time travel prime Tyson Chandler to this Mavs team. He'd be perfect

1. Didn't seem like an intentional elbow swing from Blake based on the slow-mo replay.
2. Sampson tried to fight loving Patty Mills of all people so I find it hard to have any sympathy beyond 'that sucks for him'.

a rare occurrence, a highlight edit (and a boss slap bass solo). giannis barely played. bucks were switching a ton, uncharacteristically, and lopez got hung out to dry. thought they would try more donte on him. you can see the harden comps in the right foot stepside stepbacks, but porter is weirdly a right hand finisher.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ESyhqWAS2Y

i guess not technically a highlight video, since i included all his missed shots as well.

but that bass. man that rules.

If Minny keeps up their win streak, they can easily pass OKC and Cleveland in the standings and have a decent chance of getting past the Kings too. What MVP-caliber player could Golden State trade for if they package the 8th pick in the draft with wiggins?

Yeah, probably should have just kept Thibs.

Last year was most likely going to be a flameout year no matter what though but yeah Saunders was really flailing this year for apparently no reason.

I think we're getting a little ahead of ourselves , but I'm hoping the basketball gods reward the late season competence with a nice lottery ball.
