idk if I would really call this a coup; it's a really fascinating attempt by Kerr to use One Weird Trick to shut out the Liberal party but he failed spectacularly. It's possible he would have been successful if he had the messaging ready or planned things out more but he didn't.

As a sidenote, there's an Australian movie from 1976 called Don's Party, about the '69 election that was almost about the '75 election.
