GBS 2.0 is a bit of a misnomer seeing as the previous rule heavy GBS was itself a response to an earlier version of GBS that was 50 hastily written copycat threads for each interesting thread usually with dumb catchphrases and verbose descriptions of someone making GBS threads their pants.

The PYF subforum used to have a crazy amount of rules once upon a time, maybe about a decade ago or so. A long, long list of rules that were broken up in categories & sub-rules E: holy poo poo I still think of PYF as a "new" forum because I was around back when it was first splintered off from GBS but I just looked it up and it goes all the way back to 2005. I think there was a very early campaign to have Scoots Magoo, then a GBS 1.0 superstar, named mod that ended up working. For that first day or two when there was no mod it was just an absolute free for all, and was kind of close in tone to what BYOB was when it first started.

On one hand, I'm really glad SA is loving nothing like absolute toilets like 4chan and reddit.
