Oh and see I prefer to suggest celebration with the adding of chocolate to milk.
Also everywhere I live I describe it as a "crapshack" which I'm fairly certain is a Bart word.

I miss working with other fans of classic Simpsons. In my old office there was a Simpsons reference in basically every conversation, and it drove crazy the girl who didn't ever watch the show.

It's "Ahoy-hoy". It's how Alexander Graham Bell originally wanted people to answer the phone.

What do you make of the compliment “Swartzweldian”?

I guess I understand what they’re driving at, and it all sounds very complimentary, and I thank everybody for that, but I can’t help thinking “Swartzweldian” is about the most awkward-sounding word in the English language. I mean, I thought “Oakleyesque” and “Vittiriffic” [after “Simpsons” writers Bill Oakley and Jon Vitti] were bad, but “Swartzweldian”!

So how would you describe your sense of humor, your comedic sensibility?

Swartzweldian.

Since writing is very hard and rewriting is comparatively easy and rather fun, I always write my scripts all the way through as fast as I can, the first day, if possible, putting in crap jokes and pattern dialogue—“Homer, I don’t want you to do that.” “Then I won’t do it.” Then the next day, when I get up, the script’s been written. It’s lousy, but it’s a script. The hard part is done. It’s like a crappy little elf has snuck into my office and badly done all my work for me, and then left with a tip of his crappy hat. All I have to do from that point on is fix it. So I’ve taken a very hard job, writing, and turned it into an easy one, rewriting, overnight.

"Women in prison... It writes itself!" sounds exactly like a classic simpsons joke as well, I can easily picture a short skit about that show starring someone like Krusty or Troy McClure.

Even though I knew he was the mastermind behind countless episodes of the show, what's really remarkable about that interview is seeing just how much of the show's comedic voice was actually his voice all along. You can see it bleeding through whenever he mentions one of his gags or when he deadpans about 'Schwartzweldian' humour- we've all just been talking about how simpsonisms have become part of our natural speech and thought processes, when really it's him that we've been channeling all along.
