Ghost Leviathan posted:The Clone Wars cartoons (both 2D and 3D) are really good. The 2D one is basically Samurai Jack with lightsabers. I read somewhere that George basically got mad that someone did Star Wars better than he did and that's why he buried the first series I would've loved to see what Genndy Tartakovsky would've done with the sequels emgeejay posted:they love making those because they don’t have to pay the voice cast a dime and no one can tell the diddley-ifference!

Bob's Burgers: Minimum 2 intro puns and a burger of the day pun per episode. Venture Bros: Eyes peeled for clever BG jokes that may reference something you've never heard of be it old media, scientifically, or historically-based. Bojack Horseman: Finger on the pause button to scour every new scene for BG jokes. That are ALWAYS there. Simpsons: n & n

Two years later and I still can't believe they didn't at least go for the obvious w&w's. Someone in here even came up with the sort of okay joke of having an employee yelling at people not to rotate the w's for legal reasons.

I forget who but one of the staff members admitted that they know these jokes suck but they like doing them to annoy the fans. Which is also annoying because your job is to try and be funny, not piss off your supporters. "ha ha isn't it hilarious that we're getting paid large sums of money to put in no effort and make something that sucks intentionally?"

My very Marge perspective on this clip is that it seems very nice list of food I’d like to eat. I wouldn’t call it funny or entertaining or enjoyable in any other way, but who doesn’t like a nice list?

Ror posted:“The Simpsons can still pull off an iconic moment here and there, even after all of this time.” Homer isn't some knowledgeable gourmand. The better way for this to work would be him wanting to eat at Krusty Burger or whatever and Lisa is trying to convince him that there's this vibrant food culture he's missing out on The best way for this to work though would be to have cancelled the show after season 8

It still goes on for like 22 minutes too long, but the complete lack of any sort of editing script side is so obvious.

A memorable and successful execution of the same list joke is Bubba’s enthusiasm of all things shrimp in Forrest Gump. It’s edited tightly so we see Bubba ramble on about shrimp dishes while him and Forrest assemble their rifles, shine their boots, and clean the floor with toothbrushes. Then it suddenly ends, they look at each other, and go right back to cleaning the floor. This... this is just too goddamn long and without purpose. I like your idea of the visual gag to at least give it substance instead of Homer fellating food.
