Friedman's problem as the flyers roster went was he didn't really fit well with anyone else in the 3rd pair slot, and most everyone else was better than him or already in an established pair that worked relatively well together. Guy wasn't great but yeah he was kind of a victim of circumstance and I get why the Flyers waived him hoping he'd slip by and back to the Phantoms where he was doing well. You're always gonna run that risk.
