So if you do internet crimes twice on the same VPN network, they could be watching the second time. Fortunately ol' Josh was too dumb to require any of that poo poo, and did the equivalent of running outside and yelling "I'm downloading child porn right now!" at the top of his lungs.

The "so you're here for the CP?" thing is straight out of the movie Happiness jesus. The dad in that movie is a pedophile who first rapes his son's friend at a sleepover and then later finds out another boy is home alone and drives over and assaults him. Later the cops come to question him about the first boy and the dad goes "So you said you're here about [second boy's name]?" Kinda surprised someone posting on reddit doesn't know what a MAC address is - in one of the screenshots they wrote "MAG (?) address". I'm with everyone else wondering how he went to the trouble to make a Linux partition but didn't use any kind of VPN?

According to everything I'm reading the Philippino police are corrupt as poo poo and helped burn all the evidence they had against him. He's also apparently living the high life in prison like in loving Goodfellas.

Suffice it to say that anyone seeking out that video and similar ones for the purposes of their own sexual gratification should absolutely be locked up and needs some extremely serious rehabilitation. He was tech savvy enough to install a desktop Linux distribution (Ubuntu desktop is about as difficult to install from scratch as Windows 10) but not tech savvy enough to wipe data off his drive instead of just deleting the files.
