People keep reading the Yes Man ending as you essentially becoming the new Mr. House, but the ending itself actually confirms that the Courier just... leaves New Vegas afterwards, lets Yes Man run things completely.

The Courier leaves in every ending because after the Battle for Hoover Dam, she goes "Wait, gently caress, I just thought of a way to get the gold out of that lovely casino" and runs off with as much Jet as she can carry. This is canon.

Well yeah, you gave him full control of a robot army and removed most of his possible adversaries during the course of the game, and he's got access to all of House's plans. He isn't programmed to say no to things, but that problem goes away if the Courier disappears and he shuts himself away into the Lucky 38 again.

Dead Space 3's checkpoint system is really starting to annoy me. The game's got two types, progress saves and checkpoint saves. Progress saves only occur at chapter breakpoints, but checkpoint saves occur in nearly every room. This is important. When you die, the game takes you back to your last checkpoint, but when you load your game, you are taken back to your last progress. Your checkpoint essentially means nothing except for as a way to save your inventory and collectibles, it's wiped when you quit. But this also means that should your game end for any reason, death or quitting or otherwise, your spent supplies are gone. At one point there is an ENTIRE SIDE MISSION that has no progress saves, meaning you have to play the whole side mission and then remember to proceed forward to the next story breakpoint. If you don't, you will keep all the supplies you gained and spent, but NOT your completion progress and will have to do it again with permanently lost ammo and resources.

I've been playing the Destroy All Humans remake and I like the gameplay just fine but something annoying is how short the missions are. You feel like you're just getting going and the mission ends and kicks you back to the map menu.

Pits suck in Returnal. Water, too (until you get the ability to enter then, which I don't have yet but assume exists). You'll be fighting some guys, not looking at the ground because you're playing a third person button hell, then suddenly you fall into a lot and lose a very large chunk of health. Then you respawn at the edge and, not realizing what direction your facing, move forward and fall into he loving pit again. Feels like poo poo. Especially when you fall into water because, like, water, really? Like, either reduce the amount of health you lose or just don't lose any and suffer the penalty of disorientation from respawning while bullets are flying around you. Anyway the game is corrupting saves right now so it's not a problem at the moment I guess.

In Yakuza 0 your success in the final race in the pocket racers arc is pretty much random. The game randomly makes your car fly off the track no matter how stable it actually is. So your strategy is to keep repeating the race until you get lucky. It's a tiny annoyance in an otherwise great game but come on

Any video game with a parry system that has the window be extremely tight, but the enemies just love to showboat their attacks and you're just waiting for them to strike. Then when they finally attack its like half a frame lightning quick strike. Completely kills my rhythm.

It's a bullet hell style shooter so dodge rolling is how you parry, but there's a teleporting enemy type that gave people lots of trouble because it fires instantly right AFTER its really obvious slow telegraphed teleport move. And if you happen to die to this specific guy... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_f6IWrDK3A&t=30s (timestamp 30s) ...the devs kindly let you know they have no sympathy for you.

CyricZ’s guide to Pocket Circuit is an invaluable resource for making that whole thing trivial: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/pc/241144-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/pocket-circuit If you follow their guides then you can slam through every Pocket Circuit race in 0 and Kiwami and only needing to use the boost one time in one specific race in Kiwami. I think the concept is really fun and I think it could make for a really fun standalone game, but at some point, you just kind of want to get it over with.

My problem was that one particular race. You could use the setup from the guide you linked (mine was exactly that I think) and it was still a crapshoot. You could do a test run with that car ten times and it would never once be in danger of going off the track, but once you put it in the story race it helicoptered off the jumps and corners seemingly at random. I think it was just trying to build drama since your car really should have been able to beat the last guy for a while before you race him.
