They are big weird dopes just like your average seagull, and that is weirdly comforting. You expect albatrosses to be all superior, and they just want the fish, dammit. This was a place off the coast in NZ where there are also whales just popping up all the time, so it's a bit intense on the 'meet interesting animals front' front. The seals were wonderfully chill.

And they are not stupid birds, they are great and v pretty too! We gots goldfinches just flying around like nothing and they are so pretty, they look like shy clowns. also goldcrests that are insanely tiny and cute.

Turns out a robin made a nest in the vent for my apartment's dryer, one of the almost full grown babies ended up in my dryer hose  it was okay thankfully, I unhooked the hose, turned on the dryer & the little birb popped out uninjured. I ended up putting it outside on the patio & less than a minute later the mama robin came out to check on it. Pretty sure there's 2-3 more babies in the vent but I don't wanna mess with it, I'll gladly let them grow up there in relative safety
