We had not left it yet, but when I would wake in the night, I would lie, listening, homesick for it already.

Movistar have 2 in the break, they're going to try again from range.

Completely normal. This climb will probably be another 2nd place behind Indurain or Pantani.

Yeah it's been a weird race, coverage starts so late and they've been finishing an hour earlier than predicted every day

For the record, Padun put around 30 seconds into the mostly full-strength Ineos train on the climb, and then lost around 90 seconds to Ion Izagirre on the descent. Just :thunk: things

maybe instead of fannying about they should attack porte while he's isolated and not let thomas back on.

Advanced stats are in. Not a 2nd place after all, but the only people faster than him are Pantani, Virenque (2x), Ullrich (2x), Escartin, Riis and Heras. Escartin and Heras are famously clean, so it's all good

The giro GC contenders were banging out 6-6.5w/kg rides back to back. The only pure climbers padun was beating were kuss who's clearly on a bad year compared to last and failman Lopez.

Its dodge that hes come out of no-where but its not like he was putting 30 seconds onto the Slovenian terminators. Just the Ineos B team.

A bracing glass of carrot juice!
The Col de Joux Plane has only featured twice in the tour in the last 20 years, and because of where it is it's always been one of the last stages. In 2006 it was stage 17 and "won" by Landis (who tested positive immediately afterwards and was DQd, eventually) and in 2016 it was stage 20, a very wet day and the whole of the top 3 were very happy with life so nobody really attacked the Sky Train. Nobody big really goes for the Dauphine all out.
