Ok. I fully agree with Spins on her points that there’s violent porn and you can’t just ignore it, it exists and it can be impressionable. There was some energy to push all porn to the .xxx domain but that seemed to fizzle out. Im actually in support of it. But I also want the credit card companies to stop being assholes and allow payments on pornography websites. It’s a two way street. If they move to the .xxx domain, then they can have payment systems. I won’t get into how the porn websites do payment systems right now. It’s very interesting, but I’m a software engineer who specialises in building payment gateways. So yeah. So why the xxx domain? Because it makes the internet WAY easier to filter! The issue I have is there’s no current way to rate the internet, we cannot filter the really healthy sexual content from the unhealthy sexual content. So when kids go to a tube site, they get EVERYTHING… all mixed together. It’s a lot for a kid. I was of the generation that found porn in places, like a playboy, or a vhs tape. That stuff was super tame compared to what’s available now. Kids are going to want to watch people gently caress…. Allow them to see healthy sex education stuff… don’t be prudish with drawings and poo poo… show naked people, it’s education not pornography. That’s my way to solve what I believe to be the two largest issues. 1. We need to find a way to gate access to content that is for adults 2. We need to show kids what normal sex is like first. Before we let them see the more hardcore scat pornography I find the issue with our societies is that when it comes to drugs or sex. We chose to close our eyes and pretend it doesn’t exist. That’s just super harmful.

Cool that you want to protect kids or whatever but the lid is pretty much off of that can of worms. Porn will always be compelling and it will always exist. The best thing anyone can probably do is actually talk about the varied effects a lifetime of pornographic consumption may have. That way people can choose whats best for themselves and theres actually a body of experience for others to draw from that hasnt been tainted by extremists on either side. I guess my point is also that free and unrestricted access to unlimited recorded sex can be a problem for adults just as well. Pretty sure it ruined Chris Rocks marriage.
