Aside from the continuing shows from this season and Kobayashi/Love Live, the only shows next season that look particularly interesting to me are Aquatope and Kageki Shoujo. Aside from that Sonny Boy's first ep didn't particularly compel me writing-wise but I really dig the unsettling atmosphere it's going for and am at least interested enough in seeing where it's going to stick with it for at least a couple more episodes, and I'll probably keep an ear out for Vanitas impressions as well even though it doesn't particularly seem my thing.

I'm probably only watching Aquatope and continuing MHA. I'll use next season to watch stuff I skipped this season like 86 and Vivy.

All I want from Maidragon is for them to skip the story with the dick. They can leave in all the other ~problematic~ stuff if they must, but please, please, just skip the story with the dick.

Anyway I'll be watching Maidragon S2, Aquatope, Slime, MagiReco S2 if it does indeed happen this season, Love Live, continuing TYE, Blue Reflection (if it doesn't die?) and MHA, might try Jahy. Will also catch the Wonder Egg finale just to see how they try to wrap up that mess.

Is mha expected to get to whatever decent story people like this season? I tried watched the last episode but it’s just brutally uninteresting. I can’t believe they are doing a Christmas episode in June. I can’t believe it’s been a whopping nine months since they entered school and it’s like episode a hundred. The show never did fix its pacing problems that it has had the entire time.

who, me?

MHA has shuffled some stuff around a bit but it seems to be for the purpose of ending the season on the arc people like. Given the number of episodes left it's not really possible for them not to get to it.

Friends 'ave fun together.
I really hope Blue Reflection Ray doesn't die. It's not a perfect show, and "slow-burn character drama punctuated with occasional sword fights" isn't going to appeal to everyone, but it's clearly had a ton of heart poured into it, and has easily been the biggest surprise of the season.

maidragon already hit the absolute pits of what they could possibly adapt from it in the ova, so i'm not sure why you'd be most concerned about the dick chapter specifically when it's already gone somewhere as bad

This is the first season I think I've ever followed shows week to week instead of just binging them a year later, between To Your Eternity, Odd Taxi, and Nagatoro. I have a hard time picturing doing anything like that over the summer, but who knows, maybe Sonny Boy will ensnare me.

Vanitas and Night Head look like fujo shows but I looked into the plot of Vanitas when I thought about reading the manga and it has a dealbreaker for me character death so I'm skipping that one and only plan to check out Night Head which I'm keeping very low expectations for.

The only other show I'm interested in right now is Uramichi, unless there's any interesting donghua that I haven't heard about yet.

mostly I'm planning to use the season to finish winter and spring shows I'm halfway through since the season looks super thin for me.

I legit actually think RT's animation department probably could have done a better job with Kumo desu ga, at least by the standards set in Vol 4 of RWBY.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnpEnWViak8

They actually have a battle that actually takes place in a forest. The composition is better, the characters movement is more dynamic and detailed, the art direction is consistent decent-good. The monster's/baddies move in much more interesting ways compared to the big monsters in Kumo which just kinda float there; in RWBY they actually fight like video game Dark Souls bosses with combat phases and anything and react when hurt in ways that better convey their physicality.

The only issue with this comparison of course is that RWBY episodes are only like 15-18 minutes long and its unclear to me if they could deliver at that level at the same budget a Japanese anime has to work with; but on the other hand they now have like a decade of experience with CG animation and multiple shows under their belt.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPjcCkMYYzY

I think this fight is from an earlier season but the best thing about it is how the characters make actual use of the terrain and environment to dictate the flow of the fight scene; something which has basically never happened in all of Kumo desu ga despite several of its most pivotal fight scenes in the LN and Manga making heavy use of the environment!

RWBY is actually a decently animated show, Hbomb's review only really covers Volumes 1 and 2 and I imagine most people who stopped watching it did so by Vol 3.

This explains some of the story leaks I had seen floating around, if they're bringing in every Tom Dick and Harry to work on stuff just to get it done

Surprising that it looked as good as it did, in spite of all that. Upsetting, too, if they look at the end result and go "WELL IT WORKED, DIDN'T IT? SO WHY SHOULD WE BOTHER TRYING TO RUN THINGS IN A MORE REASONABLE FASHION!"

im looking forward to libertarian city builder isekai, polycule the anime, game dev anime (non loli edition) and momotari, soft porn edition. i thought about night head, but then i looked at the trailer of night head and realized that night head was in fact a cgi anime. i also did some research and found out night head 2045, the night head next season, is in fact a remake of a 00s anime called night head genesis. from this i learned that night head wasnt cgi, so if i were to watch a night head, it would probably be the night head that isn't cgi. night head

I mean that was more in response to Captain Invictus saying "It's not quite as bad as rwby but boy is it not great looking 3dcg" which I think is a perfectly valid position to discuss. I'm not really interested in litigating whether you think its a bad show overall, although I do disagree with your assessment, it isn't the point of my post or what I was responding to.
