I don't know whether people noticed, but the lockdown doesn't go into effect until midnight - giving people plenty of time to get to their holiday destinations. Seems pretty deliberate when other measures have come into effect at 4pm.

Surely this activity has to be illegal and politicians have to be held accountable. (HA!)

I'm confused, my partner works in the city, but I don't, and we live outside of the lockdown areas. So he gets to stay and work from home and I get to stay suffering, yeah? Weird half rear end lockdown area nonsense.

The media is interpreting it as people being subject to a stay at home order if they've been in the lockdown locations for any reason in the last two weeks. Gladys is terrible at explaining things.

The rules are the absolute minimum they feel they need to make to keep an air of having done something without doing something. It’s not designed to make sense.

Interesting quote from the interview with one of the Melbourne Dry-Cleaners that got it;quote:"We were really careful, we did everything right, we still got it," he said. Good luck with those half-measures, Sydney .

There's so many edge cases like; a friend of mine "works in" one of those LGAs but hasn't been to the office in weeks. What then? Do they lockdown? Can they leave greater sydney? What about if your housemate works in King's X? Are you still expected to stay home?

They're also ambiguous enough that your boss can just deem you an essential worker and tell you to come to work It's hosed

Now it's just a waiting game to see who's the first Sydney fuckwit to try and flee to their summer home in Brizzie or Melbourne. If nothing else at least we can point and laugh from Victoria when we'll pick up maybe a handful of containable cases at worst (hopefully ) while Sydney turns into even more of a plague-ridden cesspit over the coming weeks. Because apparently LoCkDoWns Don't Wooorrrk... (Seriously though; stay safe and sorry your leaders are fuckwits)

Dear Sydney, I hope you're all safe and everyone comes through ok, but could you please have it sorted before the 20th of July so the missus and I can come up from Hobart for our currently planned 22nd wedding anniversary? She's all covid vaccinated since she started treatment for her stage 4 breast cancer ( I don't get my first covid jab til August ), and we've been looking forward to getting away together since her diagnosis at the start of April.

People who live in the 4LGAs are only allowed to leave the area for the following reasons: to brush their teeth to purchase El-Jannah (granville, not franchises) if the UV index is between 3 and 9 except where it is 7.5-7.9 they use an electric scooter to do so their dogs name starts with a letter M-Z in the alphabet their cats name is A-L if they have a dog and a cat, they are allowed to leave but only if its to buy a new collar/name tag for BOTH pets. clear enough?

NSW government departments don't seem to have a clue at this point whether their city offices should be shut down for the next week. Gladys really wasn't very specific when she said "businesses" in the 4 LGAs will be expected to close. I hope her phone is blowing up with calls from CEOs seeking clarification.
