I read that only one ISN rider finished within 2 minutes of Alaphilipe yesterday. Everyone else lost between 5 and 16 minutes.

Great start.

And speaking of, another great finish today. What in the word are ASO thinking of in giving us two exciting stages on the first weekend of the tour instead of the expected sprint snoozefests? No respect for tradition.

I forgot when the tour was starting and missed stage 1. What a dummy thinking it would start in July. It sounds like day 1 was like a nascar race with lots of crashes and a super dumb spectator.

It was a mess. They could not stay upright. I don't think it would have been that interesting a stage without the crashes, maybe not a pure sprinter's finish, but half the riders had been on the floor and the mechanics were running low on bikes to hand out.

Apparently there's people organising protests against them at the tour too.


Pretty mental how many people's GC is basically over after the first stage. I was convinced Porte was going to finish higher than Thomas.
