The new SPELLLING album, released this morning, may be an AOTY contender, IMO. Listened to the new Modest Mouse again. It's not a bad album, it's just not a particularly impressive one either. I dig the e-bow (?) usage on Lace Your Shoes. Japanese Trees is still the standout of the whole thing. It really puts almost all the other tracks to shame. Back to the Middle is pretty good too. Man, I thought Wooden Soldiers was terrible lol. gently caress Your Acid Trip is my fave by a mile, but still overall not a good album.
