I like Gabrus a lot but he really doesn't seem to gel well for this podcast. Yet the rest of the WHM crew seems to be having a good time with him there... Idk. I would expect he will be back though. Maybe I'm just too used to people's vibes on other casts because I also don't necessarily love when Blank Check and WHM crossover either, despite loving both shows and all the people on them. Gabrus and Griff seem better and jumping into a bit and riffing with the guys than say the Talking Simpsons guys, who are good but kinda got lost in the background of that episode

I definitely would love ad free versions for patrons but as it stands I just tune out for but when they are doing ads. It's annoying but could be worse. I do feel like they hawk way more scammy companies that they should. Like that therapy but not therapy they were doing. They are still headgum right? So I guess blame the network

I heard a podcast about all their scummy practices a few years back, such as no real verification of their qualifications, underpaying, and the fact that anything you do with them becomes theirs. Typical tech company bullshit under the guise of mental health services. All I know is they've been pushing themselves on every podcast they can for the last month or so, because it's everywhere.

I tried Feals through them and it was overpriced nothing. TBF they were extremely cool about it and their support people were incredibly nice and they refunded me entirely but still lol e: Also I would rather be inconvenienced for a few button taps an episode than not have my hunky fat nerds get paid for the only good bad movie podcast.

I also found their ad choice weird but not much different from basically any other podcast I listen to with ads. I laugh when I skip them because the skip forward button on my car syncs perfectly with each verse of "Spanish Flea" so every time I press the skip forward button it's exactly the start of the next verse of the song.

Angelica is great on the episodes she's in and fits in great while adding an entirely different personality that blends in seamlessly. And I have a hard time getting on these guys for their ads and making a little money doing what they do. They've worked really hard for a long time doing this poo poo so it's tough for me to begrudge them for it and the hours of entertainment they've given me has probably cost me less than a single video game purchase. When you add up the paid subscribers and do the math, nobody's getting rich here and good on them for doing something they like, being great at it and not entirely coming off as sell outs. It's not really their fault that the only way to monetize anything in this godforsaken system is by doing commercials and that almost every company in existence is a scam of some sort.

yea she seems to be a longtime WW fan so I imagine she was happy to dump on 84 being such a poor adaptation and all, but yea they even acknowledge how hilarious it is how angry they all were at that movie in this episode so I think she'd agree that was a weird vibe all around.

I remember the WW84 episode, and it also seemed that a lot of her written reviews were starting to get "knives out" for no apparent reason. I also know that she has been open about absolutely going through it in the last few months (deep depression, loss of her grandmother, financial straits due to taking care of her late grandmother), so I'm a little curious about the timing and general vibe of this episode. EDIT: It would be lazy and speculative to ascribe her more vicious reviews to her emotional state at the time, but there was certainly a correlation.

That's totally fair. WW84 and Antebellum are the two that really stand out for me without going through her archive, so it's a little blurry as to what's her and what's the quality of the content. I think she also went off on "Them," but I can't fault her on that cause... see Antebellum
