Did they say they were being arrested for the "attempted" assassination of the Senator? He took a sniper shot to the head. Pretty sure he's dead.

But yeah, great episode.

Vinylshadow posted:

I'm impressed Orn survived that headshot since they called it an attempted assassination

Oops, I guess it was already mentioned.

My guess is he's dead, but since this is a cartoon, they don't want to just say it. I doubt we see him again.

I'm thinking he's not dead because A) you can see his hand moving on the slab as they cart him off and B) he has a significant role in a canon book set after this. Yes, it wouldn't be the first time they've retconned something but this would be a big one.

Also you're right, Chopper has a reputation to live up to. I have a bad feeling about Howzer, though.

Yep. Funnily enough, it too is a work that features a plot beat about Imperials conspiring to assassinate Orn Free Taa for political points lol

There’s some that have three, though rare. One of the main characters had three in the Star Wars book that was before the Republic and when Jedi used swords and called themselves Jedi’i or something. I can’t remember what the book is called. But yeah I just noticed this episode that he has four. Has anyone noticed that in the movies?

Yeah. It's been a thing since he first appeared in AOTC I think.

She hasn't spent years off-world surrounded by non Twi'leks yet. If memory serves, she slips back into the accent a bit in Rebels when arguing with her father.

It’s the same actress, and that’s Hera’s original accent. You could hear it in the Rebels when she was arguing with Cham.

Ah right, forgot about that. For that matter, did Ahsoka ever slip into that accent at any point (I imagine she might have had it before she joined the temple)?

And yeah, it makes sense that she’d lose the accent after spending so many years off world

Hera’s French Twi’lek accent comes up once or twice times in Rebels as well, IIRC when she visits her family.

Ahsoka isn’t a Twi’lek, she’s a Togruta. I don’t recall if they had a specific accent when others showed up in Clone Wars.

It's a world building thing that everyone from the same planet would have the similar accents. People can "grow" out of their original childhood accent but it takes time. My sister did when she immigrated to the US as a child.

I say similar because for me it brings back the whole "English sounds different everywhere you go."

Ah right, I’m still not that far into Clone Wars so I assumed Ahsoka was a Twi’lek as well. Nevermind then

There was a parody subtitled supercut of all of Chopper's scenes where he was just cursing the whole time, and I can't help but hear every noise he makes as somehow having a liberal and creative sprinkling of "gently caress" and "poo poo".

To be fair, how do we know he wasn’t (as someone else said he’s basically HK-47: Astromech Edition)? That’s why I love the little bastard:

There was some beautiful shots in this episode.

This is morein line with what i wanted to see in the show. More to do with the rise of the Empire rather than focusing on the bad batch.

Couple of things:

Crosshair is looking good considering an engine burnt his face off a few weeks ago.

I was worried that they would treat Hera like we all thought Solo would/did where they just explain everything she does later in life is just from that one story

I'm surprised that taa was shot. I was expecting it to be Hera's mum. It's probably going to be next week

Well, unless they spring for another season we’ve only got 5 episodes left now (and this week’s barely even featured the main crew to the point where you probably could have left them out entirely, though Omega and Hera bonding was worth it in my opinion) but at this point anything’s possible.

I wonder, for those who never watched Rebels, how would the last episode have come across?

I really enjoyed watching young Hera and everything (read: Chopper), but to someone casually watching it and only seeing the Bad Batch for about a minute, it must have seemed weird as hell.

I haven't watched Rebels and it was still a good episode, I just didn't get all that excited the droid was there but I was like "Was that the shy Twi'lek that Boil and Waxer saved" and she wasn't so I was a bit sad.

I do think the Twi'lek episodes from The Clone Wars are enough to bridge the gap for this episode. You know most of the key players from that.

Now if you hadn't watched that either, it would probably be more confusing.

Edit: I plan on watching Rebels after this series is over just because I'm assuming that's how the timeline works and I'm already watching this. I only finished watching the non-Bad Batch related TCW episodes last week.

I haven't seen Rebels, partially because I didn't like the first few episodes the first time around but also because I was working my way towards them from Clone Wars and I managed to finish season 7 right as this started and it kind of naturally flowed into it. For me I enjoyed it as a check in on Ryloth after not hearing about them for a while, but it was kind of obvious maybe I was looking at already established characters. Kind of like how a kid with a grown rear end man's voice showed up in ep 1.

I think it was Rebels I watched, I might have somehow seen like 4 episodes of Resistance instead?

E: oh it was Rebels, I know I didnt like the art but I also know it didn't look as bad as Resistance eughhk
