Reason I suggest the gentle leader is because of the control it gives you over your pup’s snoot.  When Monty is meeting a new pup I will grab the leash close to his snoot and if any dust starts getting kicked up I have 100% control of him and where his teeth are, and can remove him from a situation immediately. This is of course only possible if your dog is either passive on the leash and/or if you are stronger than they are. E: reason I asked about age is because old dogs/new tricks kinda thing. Scout got to try dock diving for the first time this week. My goal was to get her off the baby dock at least once but she took to it right away and was soaring off the big dock by the end of the lesson.   If you've got a dog that loves water and toys I highly recommend giving it a try! Now I need to see how many times I can afford to take her before the end of the season.
