It occurs to me that Dice has essentially made a perpetual Battlefield game in that they could just keep updating 2042. ...and then to keep file sizes down and add FOMO they'll cycle out specific Battlefields each year ala Destiny.

Theyve confirmed that there will be a tech test soon thats invite only, followed by a beta before release. BF betas are usually really easy to get into even if they arent fully open.

I can't remember when I was last genuinely excited for a video game. This looks to be the most battlefield of battlefields, and made to be FUN. There's gonna be a shitload of content by the looks of it.

I wonder what the endgame is with this, though. Like with Battlefield Portal this seems to be... THE Battlefield experience. Like, with that thing, do you even need another battlefield anymore? It seems really awkward to just... have a sequel afterwards eventually, unless it's a serious tech improvement anyway.

Have any of the updates today even mentioned you'll be able to carry the guns out of Portal? Vehicles are obviously no (though maybe they'd allow at least cosmetic switches into the BF3 or BC2 equivalents, and I would be really surprised if there wasn't any legacy cosmetics for the specialists where appropriate) I just want to carry the Ping into the future.

Weapons and such. It also shares a season pass with normal, not free to play multiplayer, which adds some guns for free and a ton of cosmetics for 10 bucks a season. The worst part about the way that Warzone does it is that you can't do custom loadouts with new guns if you don't buy the whole drat new game. Of course, the meta guns are all the new ones, so if you bought MW2019 but not Cold War, Actiblizz says you can get hosed.

Give us the MG3 you cowards!!! This looks absolutely dope. I think Jack may be a bit wrong on the WW2 factions though. I think Brits, krauts, AND Americans because there definitely dudes with US pattern helmets and also dudes with doughboy helmets in the trailer. B-17 is back, can’t wait to para drop dudes off the wings behind enemy lines

When CW came out you could unlock most of the games just through leveling. Then some guns were available via the battle pass but you didn’t have to buy the pass to get the gun. There are a few guns, including guns you missed in the battle passes that have absurd requirements that are presumably easy to get in base CW. That said I largely stopped playing when CW was released so I don’t know all the ins and outs, but MW, CW and WZ all have their own loadouts menus now. If you’ve unlocked the gun, period, you can use it in Warzone.
