in random threads over the years i've found out about some fun/interesting channels i still go back and watch occasionally

Kimagure cook is a Japanese fish butchery/cooking show that i find very satisfying. most of his videos have been subtitled (turn on in the youtube player)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQEaFT7Q0nk&t=184s

Hand Tool Rescue is what it sounds like and generally consists of 0 talking whatsover and is also very satisfying, repairing old tools and shining them up, sometimes recreating entire missing parts
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBeOgGt_oWU

please show me some more cool youtube channels for watching thanks :shobon:

my mechanics is basically the same thing as Hand Tool Rescue, just the sounds of repairs and no speaking
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmSXo0XdWoA

Rambalac is a channel where the guy walks around parts of Japan with his camera, with no commentary from him aside from the few times he speaks to a vendor
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFbNmgabnYw

these two channels are really good at making me fall asleep, got me through the few few months of quarantine last year

this guy isn't quite as cool as japanese sushi chef, but Fisherman's Life is usually "guy goes fishing, cleans and cooks it in a pan of butter on the beach" and despite half of his commentary being "LET'S GOOOOOO" I could probably clean a fish or crab by memory now

I think this one started out good but later ones get a little too abstract where it becomes unclear what steps are actually doing.

As for actual content, I think Auralnauts is a pretty fun channel. They mainly do edits/redubs but their best stuff is their retelling of Star Wars Laser Master.

Mustard has some neat, short videos on odd vehicles, mainly focusing on aviation.

Civvie 11 is good if you like old school first person shooters. Kinda mystery science theater inspired.

MarphitimusBlackimus in a similar vein has a video series about Half-Life's Goldsrc engine. It has a lot of quirks, easter eggs, and details that's surprisingly interesting.

Rescue and Restore is a restoration channel that mainly deals in old toys. It has no annoying voice over and is very calming.

I've tried to recommend Cinematic Excrement to people before but i don' think anyone on the forums is interested. I'll admit, his sense of humour isn't really for everyone but when he talks about historically bad movies like Manos: Hands of Fate, Inchon, and Plan 9 from Outer Space he does some really in-depth research.

'Dave's World of Fun Stuff' - a guy who repairs guitars. Worth watching for his opinion of Rickenbacker basses https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQgAv2jcmcI
It's far removed from the usual kind of channels such as Stewmac.

'Mr. Carlson's Lab' - another repair channel, this time featuring a range of electrical stuff, quite often vintage and occasionally quirky. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rf-fO0aj3I I'm sure Mr. Carlson is a fine and charming fellow, however, I might be a bit scared of him.

We sometimes watch The Fish Locker, which is kinda similar. A dude somewhere in the UK films himself and sometimes his family going out on their fishing boat to fish or haul up crab pots or go foraging on the coast for shellfish. Sometimes he just walks along to show off the flora/fauna in the shallows. Pretty cool channel that's chill and interesting and you get to learn something.

Wow this video had a bit of everything. Pretty good, will watch some more...

But man that jump at the end was incredibly stupid... Like he's probably going to die at some point doing those jumps too much.

There was another train riding vlogger, I think his videos are still up, Stobe the Hobo. He died a few years back when his bag got stuck on an Amtrak.

This guy is also a decent Train Riding vlogger in the US. He has some incredibly in depth knowledge on US train routes and how RR companies operate... His YouTube channel has also gotten him a nice lakeside apartment... Some of videos are like below, just riding trains, others he talks a bunch and tells a lot of cool stories. He also lost 2 fingers from a train around the same time Stobe died.
