Problem description: Sometimes when I press the power button on my PC it will start up but instead of booting to the motherboard splash screen and then windows like it normally does it shows a message saying theres no display signal and the fans on the PC are spinning at full tilt. The only way to stop this is to hit the power switch on the PSU. This doesn't happen every time. I can go weeks without it happening and then have it happen 3 times in a row. Attempted fixes: I tried to search for fixes but I couldn't find my exact problem. I saw something about bad memory maybe or it wasn't seated right so I checked to make sure everything in my PC was plugged in correctly and firmly. Since this issue doesn't happen every time I turn my PC on its hard to troubleshoot. I can change something and have no idea if I fixed it or if it just didn't happen this time. Since you have two HDDs you could run CDI to check their health: https://osdn.net/projects/crystaldiskinfo/downloads/75539/CrystalDiskInfo8_12_4.exe/ A failing hard drive could cause POST issues. You could run memtest overnight at some point if you wanted to check RAM health: http://memtest.org/ Also, an underpowered/failing PSU could do this. Or the motherboard itself.

OK I did the Memtest and ran CDI and everything looks good. Is there a way to check the PSU and Mobo? I don't really wanna spend out for a new one of either unless I'm confident it's causing the issue.

There are not great tests to do on them besides swapping parts out. They have PSU testers but they're only good for testing completely dead PSUs rather than slowly failing ones. If they're only a year old they're probably okay. You could make sure you're on the latest motherboard BIOS though.

I think I still have my old PSU still kicking around but like I said this isn't an issue that happens every time I turn my PC on. I could swap in the old psu and have no idea if it fixed anything. I'll look into a bios update at least. Thanks!
