anyone have a recommendation for those reusable/re-freezable "ice cubes?" if you want to cool things down without watering down the drink, you're better off with the large cube style ones like I use for whiskey. those reusable ones, and "whiskey stones" are crap.

The takeaway was that you can't emulate the thermal properties of ice cubes with a reusable solid material.

also yeah you're not gonna beat good ol' ice for cooling. water has some of the best heat capacity of any substance you're gonna want to put in your drink and melting it takes 80 times as much energy as raising the same amount of liquid water by a single degree.
