I'm surprised they've never just done a proper remake of Battlefield 1942. That game ruled. Cruising round in a battleship shelling things. Flying a plane to the enemy carrier, parachuting onto it and sneaking around murdering nerds. Hopping in a Heinkel, flying over the Channel and bombing where I was born. ;p

I'd be quite content if nothing else further monetized WW2 (or 1) tbh. Even if war itself is just monetization

I thought the BF1 and BFV version of guns and attachments sucked so I’m glad it’s more of an integrated menu rather than a laggy poo poo show of “trench, storm, low weight.”

So stop having classes. Just have everyone be a medic/sniper/engineer/death robot whenever they need. I cancelled my pre-order as this looks more and more just like BF4 (which was fun) with a little more. I'll see what people think on release.

Haven't spent too much time watching how it works, but it'd be cool if changing certain accessories took different amounts of time. Like swapping mag sizes should be pretty fast compared to switching out optics or adding a suppressor to a weapon.

Not sure if there is anyone left who doesn't have BFV or BF1, but I had these codes I keep forgetting to post: BFV F3L4-KL6C-UP5R-J4YM-ZP95 BF1 GJEN-JNGE-GSTE-ARBW-WFRA If it gets sniped by a lurker so be it, at least they will get used.

The choice between scopes is the only thing that even slightly would affect that and even that is a stretch. The specialist system could be argued, sure, but the attachment system...?

In the older game I used the canted irons only ever because it looked dumb and goofy, like tri green lasers. Never tactically.

Point of Existence? I forget the name but it was modern combat similar to DC. it also gave TV guided missiles that had beyond visual range capability to the BMP and Bradley. These were balanced by being 'hard to control' I guess? except you know what made them really easy? a joystick. What did I have at the time? My trusty Sidewinder Pro. so just imagine you're in your base waiting for the tank to spawn like you do, and as soon as you drive out the front gates out of the sky comes some utter rear end in a top hat guiding an AT-5 Spandrel missile from over a mountaintop directly onto your turret, where you can't outrun it, can't return fire, and can't get out fast enough. where was I oh right yeah bf vietnam: owned, never played a minute of the actual game.

That's because they were literally just modded "aircraft" that just exploded really big when they hit something, that's why they had the caveat that they never gave you the kills since it was technically a "suicide" attack like ramming into something. Desert Combat also had that in those very, very rare times you ended up on a map with ships, since they had cruise missiles that acted pretty much the same way. I kinda want to say later versions had them on planes too like the F-15 but I can't really remember.

I'm just broke brained and like using iron sights, but with current or future scopes there's almost no point. Gonna miss the BF1 style where most guns are pretty good with iron sights. Man, can you imagine if they just did a WW2 version of bf1 instead of what we got? Like, bring back premium if it means we're going to get tons of maps and new guns. Can you imagine if BF:V had as many varied maps as BF1? We got loving russian civil war maps! There's not even any russians in your ww2 game!

Having 20 new maps doesn't matter if half the servers don't run them because it would split the playerbase.

2142 rules. You could ride in a drop ship and toss an emp grenade at your feet causing the drop shop to descend, while blaming it on an enemy EMP missile. Jer, if you’re reading this, it was me the whole time.

Titan mode was such a cool idea. Having you and your team firing up in pods, landing on the giant floating ship, fighting your way to the core, setting a bomb and running away as it exploded was amazing. Obviously it was a mess as I guess the coding was too difficult, but as an idea it was brilliant.
