Now that The ‘Dex is back up and it’s getting updates again, I may as well promo this one thing I’ve been reading that fits here. It is Sore Wa Rei No Shiwaza Desu and it is a very cute and funny story about a boy, a girl, and a girl’s invisible ghost friend who also happens to be the world’s best cupid-slash-wingwoman.     I might should mention that Chapter 4 ends on a bit of a creepy note, but Chapter 5 makes up for it like a motherfucker with  STREET JUSTICE

I'm really enjoying this, yeah. Cute and funny with a simple but clean and appealing art style. Though sometime around chapter 20 the author apparently just really wanted to draw some girls bending over. lotta butt shots.

New Kitsune Spirit. ...honestly I'm pretty much done with this. I can't stand the post-chapter page of the authors continuously complaining about the series anytime it's anything other than the main characters being lovey-dovey. It's like they want the series to be Senko-san but with an edgier looking fox.

It's so that other aggregate sites can't steal their work and pass it off as their own. At least that's my read on it.

I don't think the pregnancy took fifty years, I think it's Kate who is fifty years old. Unless the current Kate is a descendant of this one.

I'm pretty sure it's meant to be a magic 50 year pregnancy. The maid is young and has dark hair when they first start living in the abandoned house and when Kate is born she has gray hair and says she raised Kate as her granddaughter.

If you don't mind much more real-world settings, then maybe something by Naoki Urasawa? Monster, 20th Century Boys, and Billy Bat are all excellent and have a lot of unfolding layers of mystery and intrigue.
