First Battlefield round where I got a positive KD. Followed by the first round where I actually got a good flank - Suez (or another desert map?) where both teams just lined up on two sides of a dune ridge. I got tired of resurrecting dead snipers, so I went around the dune, and half the enemy was lined up for a shooting gallery, ready for a "top frags" youtube video. ... The one basic assignment I'm missing is "bayonet 5 guys". Haven't managed even one. The basics of "flank and sneak" make sense, but it doesn't really work out in practice, I'm always spotted and instantly killed (or dodged). Charging around corners just doesn't work at all. Were jihad jeeps just not as common in BF4 just bc tank nerfs no longer meant they were the most reliable way to destroy a tank? BFV has sticky dynamite but I don’t think I’ve ever seen one

I think it even had the strat where you put a squad mate in the driver seat and let him drive up a tanks rear end. The C4 killed the tank, but didn’t scratch the jeep or squad mate due to no team damage. This may have been 3 instead though. 4 also had some outside-the-box shenanigans like using recon MAVs as elevators or C4 delivery drones.

I’m all for a delay if it improves the quality of the game/release. Battlefield 4 was amazing. Battlefield 1 was amazing. Battlefield 5 never happened. I will preorder this poo poo without knowing anything about it.

Assignments in BF4 are always active and being tracked, you can find a list of them from the main menu in Soldier > Assignments. Some of the wording on them isn’t accurate at all though. For example I had a friend trying to unlock the MP7 which simply lists 1 kill with portable AA and 3 anti-vehicle ribbons. What it doesn’t say is that those anti-vehicle ribbons have to be gotten within the same round. I think I remember most of the assignments that require ribbons do that but I can’t be sure.

It’s been so long I can’t remember but hovering way above enemy snipers and making them suicide by using the zappy thing on the MAV was hilarious.

I never top the scoreboard playing MAV, but my team always knows where the bad guys are and the other team doesn't get to use about half of their gadgets e good support for someone with a mortar

MAV in BF3 used to be insanely OP. You could stand on it to get to broken parts of the map, put C4 on it to be a proto-UCAV, and it wouldnt blow up if you ran someone over with it. It wasnt that tough to go like 80-0 on Metro with it before they nerfed it. Still a ton of fun to use in BF4 and ill bust it out if i want to  and chill for a bit. It will blow up any explosive and it will lock on and destroy any other gadget, including other MAVs. Its pretty easy goin 4-0 but also in the top 3 players in the round just flyin and mashin Q. The way to get kills is either hope someone on the other team is jihad jeeping, or just camp any enemy explosives and wait for someone to walk over them. If you get lucky, you can even take out an enemy tank this way really hope BF2042 has an equivalent or better feature. I know one of the specialists has that drone, but im not sure if it can explode enemy ordinance

u def can, it locks on to any other gadget. You gotta fly above the other MAV due to how the camera works tho so it can be tricky

Oh poo poo I remember now. Get a buddy to join the other team. He lays SLAMs or mines or whatever in a sniper nest. Then you (opposite team) use the MAV to detonate them.

When it was first released the default hip fire accuracy was so good that adding a laser made hipfire more accurate than aiming. It only became slightly worse after it was adjusted. It's probably the smallest non-pistol weapon in the series and I miss it dearly.

Yeah but then they buffed its damage to make it even better. I'll take the brainworms tag but I loved Noshahr Canals TDM with the M5K or the SPAS-12 with slugs. If recons got to the crane, shotgun frag round spam to get them down. That map was nice for some warmup and unlocking stuff for weapons.

There's no "offline" bot matches as you have to be online to play, but you're supposed to be able to play with only bots or you and some friends together with the rest of the "server" as bots

The best maps to MAV & Chill on are Silk Road, because there’s always someone throwing C4 on a quad bike, and (if you can find it) a full Pearl Market conquest server, because everyone is always putting claymores down and not just in stairwells.
