I mean he won the Grio this year and finished top 10 in the Vuelta, I don't think it's fair to say he's fading just yet. If he can get his back right there's plenty of time to chase some more wins given that he's only 24. Not sure ISN is the place to do it but  Maybe he just misses Froomey

Bernal had the white jersey for a couple of weeks at the vuelta, and was grown up enough to not be worried about losing it. I don't think he's even remotely done as a rider. I guess he feels he'll clearly be the GC guy at ISN, but I dunno, I don't feel the support will be what he wants.

I failed to get any pics of the cyclists But here is my dad, surrounded by Flemish flags, after the fact  We saw three guys in the lead, then the peloton, and two stragglers (one from Burkina Faso judging by his jersey colors and complexion, and one rando that was hard to tell) e: looks like the VRT put up a proper pic actually involving the riders:
