Doesn't she make millions doing Family Guy voice recordings on an iPhone at home. And I think her husband owns like 1/2 of Uber or something.

Eps three and four are easily the worst episodes, and anything that focuses on the Pentagon plot is, IMO, a bit of an uninspired mess.

Tbh I'd skip to five or even six from where you are and give it a final chance. The show had good bones and excellent casting, traits I usually associate with late bloomers.

(My god though, someone needs to fix some of the sound effects, the folely on the fights is weirdly muted.)

Ashton Kutcher's net worth is $200 million from successful tech investments.

Mila Kunis makes $225k per episode of Family guy and has a net worth of $75 million

Neither one of them has to do anything they don't want to.

I think so.

Trans creators at Netflix and others are on Twitter wanting them to pull the special.

In past specials, he had a point about the progress of gay acceptance vs black acceptance in America, even if it was calibrated for maximum offense. This time, he just named that and then went off about how he has a trans friend so what he says is cool.

It was Jay Leno level comedy and TERFy as gently caress where that was also the only topic.

But I do appreciate celebrities wearing Juche fiber.

I'm actually kind of glad he decided to be not funny anymore in addition to being a transphobe.

Wife and I finished it earlier this evening. She almost, ALMOST teared up at the way it ended, and I can count the number of times I've seen her cry at a TV show/movie/etc. on one hand so that's quite the achievement IMO.

Evil's second season ended up being predictably great.

Is anyone else watching it regularly? The only other people I can see talking about it online are the kind of people who think that continuity errors in set design are actually the show secretly communicating with them.

There are no Game of Thrones level shows anymore, since once that cratered so did HBO subs money. So even HBO has to go back to their pre-GOT levels of "real people with real problems in the real world do crime and cop stuff, also swearing, no fantasy or scifi worlds" which is like every other prestige tv show these days.

I'm sure they're saving up for their GOT spinoff, but even that isn't going to have the budget GOT did.

Well I guess there's Foundation. That's where the money is being spent. Apple TV+ is the new HBO.

I feel like this post is kind of ambiguous -- are you talking big budget blow outs like Game of Thrones/Westworld, or something more like The Wire/The Sopranos/Deadwood?

Was about to post asking the same thing. HBO has Raised by Wolves, Disney's got a couple Marvel shows and the Mandalorian as their big budget tentpoles, FX has Fargo, TNT has Snowpiercer, and HBO has (as mentioned earlier) Barry and Succession if you want some drama. Amazon's got The Expanse and The Boys carrying it forward into the LotR show era we're going to enter into soon while AppleTV+ has Foundation.

Plenty of good TV out there depending on the angle you want. Unless you mean "worldwide phenomena spawning watch parties and thousand page thread discussion" which, well, no. I don't think that will come again for a while.

Evil is good, though I always like the first half of the episode a lot more than the second. I was a little annoyed with the thing at the end of the last episode though.

I mean, Westworld S4 and the Game of Thrones spinoff are both currently filming, as is the Sex and the City sequel, and the Sopranos prequel movie just came out, so even the sort of "HBO epics" type productions are still ongoing even if none are airing at this moment.

While several greats shows have been pointed out, I do believe there are no top tier dramas currently (unless I am forgetting one). Succession might be the closest, but when I say top tier I mean like Mad Men, The Wire, Deadwood, and The Sopranos. No drama airing today is at that level. For me Halt & Catch Fire is the last drama that hit that level.

I am sorry. I have no vices for you to exploit.

I like Evil and enjoy the episodes every week. They managed to tie the weirdness together in a much more satisfying way than I gave them credit for. I didn't like the very end of the last episode either though.

It has a very Hannibal vibe to me, which I hope doesn't extend to getting lost in its own aesthetic, which is how I felt about Hannibal eventually
