Toilet Rascal
make sure it's a little salami, cured meat can be bad for cats since they don't process salt well

seville and rocco had their annual vet visits today. good bills of health, though rocco has lost a pound and seville has gained two which is the wrong direction for both, so that'll have to be monitored

the vet said if she gave a best cat of the day award, rocco would get it

A little bit of sorrow, and a lot of joy with this one.

Meet Shanks.

Queen of her domain and goodest catte.

Sadly, cancer took her from me earlier this year.

She was 15, had a full, happy life and went quietly into that good night.

With the Throne empty, a successor needed to be found.

Meet Klara. The "defective" catte at the shelter. Brought back twice after failed adoptions and just out of the "desirable" range for adoption at 3 years old. (Owner problems/expectations, not catte problems.)

Plays a little rough, but she is sweet, loving, and just oh so excited to meet everyone. We are working on softpaws while she plays.

She is also a very dignified claimant to the Throne.

Very royal and majestic.

I think it's their anatomical midline, so the line is an artifact of early cell division, since the hair-color split starts there? I don't know if this is a fact or just my personal theory, though.

Cat colors come around from their back and end at the points, the feet and face. Torties being splotchy, can have two colors filling in down to the nose, the bridge is where they meet and clash.

Milly has that little smudge where her nose colors fought a great battle and there was no winner.

This way that coloring propagates is also why we have so many black cats with white faces and boots. Quite literally ran out of ink at the end.

There is nothing I want to be. There is nothing I want to do.
I don't even have an image of what I want to be. I have nothing. All that exists is zero.
We had a tortie that had a tiny white diamond-stripe in the middle of her forehead, my sister and I would track her down in the mornings to "scritch the stripe" for good luck if we had something big happening at our respective schools that day.

Callie was a small but mighty tortie that blessed our family with 19 years of companionship. I'm not sure she ever weighed more than 7 lb but she would chase a wild turkey off our back porch without hesitation. Later in her life she became stone-deaf, which probably worked out best for everyone because you could run the vacuum in the same room she was napping and she never noticed it.

In meteorology, vorticity often refers to a measurement of the spin of horizontally flowing air about a vertical axis.

Luna is a calico and has the same kind of thing. Fun fact: the orange tabby pattern on her head match the same part of her brother's head.
