I am very interested in Van Dammes Bentley Azure. That seems like an all to reasonable price as well.

I have the exact same car, but mine has no rear defrost. 18k for that thing is silly... It's not 18k worth of car.
I got mine for free and wouldn't pay much more than that.
They are good on gas unless you drive on the interstate (which i don't suggest...), then you're in the high 30's or low 40's.

My tdi gets way better economy, is faster, safer, quieter, etc.

FTFY.
The metro was kind of expensive for what you got even new. They were like 12k or something in 2000.
That's about 20k today. The seller might actually break even. 20 years later.

i think that was pretty close to the very bottom trim level focus MSRP that was introduced in 99

Is that how street legal works? You say it's a "tribute" to a legal car?

This is the greatest and best car in the world...
Tribute.
Long time ago me and my brother Kyle here,
We was hitchhiking down a long and lonesome road.
All of a sudden,
There shined a shiny demon,
In the middle of the road,
And he said!
Drive the best car in the world, or I'll eat your souls...
Well me and Kyle,
We looked at each other,
And we each said,
Okay.
And we drove the first thing that came to our feeds,
Just so happened to be
The best car in the world,
It was the best car in the world.
Look into my eyes and it's easy to see
Two and and two makes four, four and four makes eight,
It was destiny.
Once every hundred thousand miles or so
Check engine doth shine
Temp Hi doth glow and the grass doth grow.
Needless to say,
The beast was stunned.
Whip-crack went his whippy tail,
And the beast was done.
He asked us,
Be that Mercedes?
And we said nay,
It is homebuilt,
Rock!
Ah, ah, ah, oh, wo, a-yo!
This is not the greatest car in the world, no.
This is just a tribute!
Couldn't afford the greatest car in the world, yeah - no!
This is a tribute!
To the greatest car in the world,
Alright!
It was the greatest car in the world,
Alright!
This is the greatest motherfuckin' car, the greatest car in the world oh!
And the peculiar thing is this my friends,
The car we drove on that fateful night,
It didn't actually look anything like this car!
This is just a tribute!
You gotta believe me,
And I wish you were there,
Just a matter of opinion.
Ah, ah, oh!
Good God,
Gotta love it,
I'm so surprised to find ya can't insure it!
Alright!
Alright!

It's doing a good job of showing the actual damage. You can see where and how the frame is bent. It's not a minor repair of course. But there are tens of thousands of dollars in parts on display. Will make a good donor car for someone looking to convert regular charger to a hellcat

Well, yes, but if you bought your fleet to fill a hole that you couldn't because your holy grail was out of reach, but now all those cars are actually worth enough that you can get your white whale...

Or just sell what you've got, and hope that prices come back down and you can buy a different set to toys because you'll never be satisfied with what you have.

Yeah, most car channels seem to be overflowing with cars. Getting rid of some of them now and then is necessary, and now is a good time to do it.

Problem is unless the market crashes at some point that white whale has gone from more than you're comfortable spending on a vehicle to unattainable in the last few years. While all cars have gone up the rare, special or historic cars have turned into assets to be traded by the wealthy.

I was unaware that reddit saw all the car sale clearouts from youtubers as some sort of conspericy. Hoovie did a new video; not surprised at his choices for keeping (except the riptide blue Escalade, he sold that) but it sounds like half the fleet is already gone. While obviously the auto youtubers have insane collections, it sounds like their motive to slim down is extremely down to earth: the market is good, and they are otherwise very busy so they don't get to drive them.
