Quick q: is the ten hour game pass trial all we're getting on game pass? Someone said it'd be released on there but it doesn't seem like that's the case.

Is this not the first game to have large scale specialist poo poo? Warzone is just skins, no abilities or gadgets, no differences, just cosmetic. Rainbow Six Siege, Overwatch, Valorant, hell even the original TF2 are all small scale games.

Try ordering the server browser by ping. When I looked last night for people playing rush on pc, it gave me a long list of near empty servers. Then I realised they were all 200+ms. Sorting by ping gave me a proper list.

And I had actual fun playing rush on a 32 player server using 2042 stuff on a 1942 map and the only down side was no xp (I really hope they fix that)

download the EA app (i think it's literally just called that) and you can link your game pass account there and get the trial

The problem with the ARs is they immediately kick upwards so you instinctively think that it's just a matter of compensating for the recoil. But by then the bloom kicks in and you're hosed at any distance beyond 5 meters.

I've also been unlucky with maps but I've now taken to cancelling the search if I get the same bloody Orbital/Renewal again.

Was amazed to find there are more than two maps!

I think they took a look at all their features and cut the ones that weren't being used under a certain threshold, or ones that required extra work for consoles or something like that. They ripped out whole systems which really didn't need to be ripped out and have been steadily improving game over game. I'm not just talking about big ticket features like building or towables which were just new for BFV. Maybe there was some level design reason for it but it seems like this stuff could have been left in for less work than removing it was.

The aiming fix seems to have made things a good deal better for me. More fun to shoot.

The game has a lot of jank and the UI is a step backwards, but I'm liking it a lot. Could have used a few more months in the oven. The more I play, the more I like.

they both kill in 5 body shots, pp-29 has better bloom when standing/moving/bursting, it's far easier to control its recoil, and its bloom resets faster for bursts or 1-taps

the only reason the pp-29 isn't better at >=40m distance engagements is because there seems to be an intentional or accidental no-reg issue past that range which might be related to weapon and attachment internal range stats. maybe fall-off damage is bugged and results in 0 damage?

I still can't figure out Portal on my end, maybe it is just early access in my region doesn't have many playing it? Seems unlikely. I turned on cross play and in total of all the modes created by people and curated modes, there were like 150 people playing.

so after playing around absolutely do not use the ak-24 it is trash

use the pp-bizon instead for an automatic weapon good at mid range lol

whoever tuned the weapon balance for this AAA game either had absolutely no time or doesnt actually play video games

also the hitmarker sounds are absolute loving trash and are so important to satisfying gunplay feedback lmao

it's so simple. warzone, apex, overwatch all have satisfying chunky hit sounds not this subtle barely audible garbage

You can already ping downed players: they have to be in a direct line of sight but it doesn't seem to tell the downed player (or your squad) anything. I was doing it all night last night and I asked friends in my squad if they got any sort of notification that I pinged them when they were down and they said they didn't.

Also, my impression was that when you were downed: if there's a green highlight around you that means its a squad mate and if they have a blue highlight, it means they are a medic not in your squad.

I'm really unhappy that they don't let you level mastery in co-op/solo.

I've been leveling the LCMG since it seems to be the best all-arounder over the M5 because the M5 doesn't have enough ammo to compensate for how inaccurate/low damage it feels. I just wish you could rebind the switch magnification key.

I'm glad they made enemies a teeny bit more distinctive: they all now have red chemlights on them so you can tell when you're closer.

Does anyone else have a bug every now and then where you can't aim or shoot while on foot? It seemed to happen most often as I was getting out of a vehicle, but the only way I could get around it was to respawn.

Hourglass is the worst map.

Ran into a hacker last night, they were floating around Arica rush getting kills with a vehicle LMG somehow, and every kill just showed as some kind of javascript thing like {@}%0 - Light Machine Gun. Was really frustrating and ruined that match for sure

Yeah I've seen that as well, twice now. At first you think that bullet reg has completely poo poo the bed until they sort of look at you stupidly and then run away.

Jesus thanks for posting this. I ran into the same on Valparaiso rush. I thought the game had bugged out on the kill cam, but the guy ended the round with over 70 kills not just assists and was lasering everyone down as soon as they spawned. Would have loved to have reported him, but the lack of a K/D scoreboard and the generally lovely reporting scheme prevented that.

This game has some good bones but holy poo poo do some of it characteristics scream crunch and lovely JIRA management: Toxic chat and chat filters are an issue? Well lets get rid of all chat but still ship with the ridiculous BFV censor for team chat, problem "fixed." We probably need to overhaul the VOIP system? Nah scrap it people have discord. Don't worry that this is the first battlefield since 2 to launch without voice comms. Joining friends after a they're in a game? Well, we'll let you launch into the server if there is an open spot, but if the team you want to join or squad you want to join is full...we'll just boot you back to the main menu without an error and requeue you right away. That'll be fine.

I really, really, want to enjoy this game. There are some fantastic glimpses at what it could be. But man, the fundamental issues are killing me. It really should have taken more time to develop and perhaps dropped the Hazard Zone to free up some funds to divert elsewhere.

The bones are good. Some of the overarching design changes are a step back but it still has good bones. I suspect we have another bfv on our hands and after a bit of tuning and bug fixing it'll be very good.

Has there ever been a bf game that was good on launch? I feel like BF1 was. I never played bf4 but apparently it was completely unplayable. But most bf titles seem not good on launch. This feels worse than I recall but maybe it's par for the course
