Trying to grind out weapon attachments in multiplayer is a slog, really wish they would add that back into co-op. Going an entire game with 10-12 kills is rough, especially now that the hit marker/bloom does in fact seem to be really really bad and inconsistent. Hopefully it's something they can patch/tweak. You can't really learn and compensate for recoil with any actual skill like in warzone or apex which is a shame. I also agree the maps are generally a little too big with too much open space, I don't think there's anything they can do to change that except maybe add more capture points and more buildings and cover which I doubt they'll do. Trying to level anything that isn't sniper or DMR is basically futile when all you do is run half the time. Game is still fun just hoping they planned on early release being a balance beta that they'll hammer out before the holidays hit.

Yeah they need to significantly increase XP and reduce the numbers needed for attachments, 150 shotgun kills for slugs is nuts given that 15 or so kills is a good match for me and I usually top my squad, that’s going to be basically impossible for most people (including me) using buckshot on these giant rear end maps, it makes the shotgun permanently useless, seemingly The other stuff just seems like a huge grind especially since the SMGs are better than all the assault rifles and DMRs, seemingly Also five XP for healing is bogus, it should be 15 at least

Definitely runs better after downgrading, 30-40 fps might be a stretch but in the match I played it did feel smoother.

AI in Hazard Zone counts as kills for weapons at least and it seems like my biggest source for kill credit. Unfortunately the amount of time it takes from being wiped to starting a new game is way too long and the LATV4 completely ruins the game mode. Either it needs to take way more damage from a recoiless or be removed completely. Think i'll be benching 2042 for a few weeks until they get some patches out. I'm just not having enough fun in its current state to justify playing. Except for the BF3 portal, which actually feels good, but I'd be stuck with only playing two maps over and over. also under windows in graphics settings you want to disable "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling" which has problems with lots of games including bf2042 also obviously for more fps turn off nvidia reflex, any nvidia low latency, and reduce buffering

Enjoy it while it lasts. like 90% of people are going to try out the m5a3 and ak-24 as their first impression and they are absolute trash and you will have a better time using any other weapon they should be tuning up the rifles to feel like the pp-29 at range (or better) if you manage their pretty big recoil and not just only nerfing the pp-29

I think I might have fun with this game but I might not. I was hoping this would blow COD out of the water because I'm so sick of COD but right now they both have separate but equal problems. I guess I'll never be able to find a fun online FPS. I have this set to be preordered and I'm super on the fence about cancelling it or seeing it through.

Safe bet would be cancel pre order and grab a month of EA play to see if it grows on you. For me I'm liking it more and more as I play and excited to see some fixes start rolling in. I understand the FPS doldrums you're feeling. Halo Infinite multi is rumored to come out as early as tomorrow and that might help you!

I'm giving the game a few more hours of play but this is feeling more and more like a "come back in 6 months" BF. Maybe after 20 years of playing Battlefield games, the scales have fallen from my eyes or some poo poo over "well it's a DICE launch, what do you expect?"after 4+ launches in a row of having to diagnose and edit text files to get the game running right.

I think dice fatigue is very real. Honestly it feels like triple A games in general just launch with problems. And while we can have fun in spite of it, it does feel lovely. Typically they do get better but it sucks that at the height of their popularity they are normally broken messes. And yet here I am playing...

I like specialists, there is said it. Gamers that like specialists are the most oppressed group. I'm glad you are enjoying the game, even a bit, Skyarb. Yknow, I played a bit for the first time yesterday and was not really having fun, I was in a poo poo mood though so I think that may have had a part. Also Im not playing with my buds, and randoms are not playing coordinated in my (admittedly short) 1 hour playtime. But drat, I got an a really awesome fight for A in hourglass that made me feel that classic BF intensity and Im much more on board. Game has good bones I am optimistic. I really wish some of the destruction was more robust though - outside of destructible village areas. Resupply guy rules, portable cover guy also rules. ALSO NO ONE IS PINGING?? Havent seen a single ping.

Is it just me, or are the graphics crappy? I've played it on the xbsx and a 3070 PC, and it just looks very last gen to me. Maybe i've just been spoiled playing pretty games like MSFS2020 and FH5.

And when I think of the regressions in some of the features between this and bfv its frustrating. Specialists are growing on me. I think I do want classes in my hear of hearts but the specialists do let me pretty significantly switch up my playstyle when I am getting frustrated and I do like that.

Tweak the AR recoil/bloom Improve matchmaking to allow you to join on friends mid match and auto queue for the next round. After that I'm just looking forward to more maps and game modes. We stopped playing Back For Blood since it was way too unforgiving at veteran and too easy on recruit. Hitreg issues would make me stop playing but I havent felt any yet. I supposed I am lucky.It is annoying that they removed some QOL poo poo and backtracked on small things that make the game feel better, but  . I never played BFV though so I am not missing whatever was good about the movement. Just let me ping bodies to tell them I can revive them dammit.I am pumped to try coordinating some of the specialist gadgets with my buds later.
