Not looking at character models from behind is a really big oversight in wow since that’s literally the standard most useful camera angle for playing the game

220ish for their level 3 (5ish years/experienced?) and 250ish for their level 4 (10ish years/senior?) so a modest hit from a MANGA but Blizzard was paying $100k less.

Theres a 350k up there for a staff/level5 distributed systems engineer, thats similar to amazon.

This just sounds like MAGA chuds on staff trying to sneak racist poo poo through again and hoping nobody will notice. They've been called out on this before with class abilities having questionable names.

Just purge the company to the bedrock.

Okay. I don’t think the top salaries are a good comparison but clearly I was wrong in that at least some positions do pay comparable to at least one MANGA.

I think going for "maga chuds are sneaking in KKK imagery" is a p. out there accusation, and all of the things you posted don't really touch the art team at all? I'mma guess that the Warlock set they posted is their third version of it, and what looked okay in the first two colors turned KKK unexpectedly in the third (the overall theming for a lot of the mythic gear that tier is very white).

That's both a common pattern of ornamentation (seriously you'll see it all over the planet and it extremely pre-dates nazis) and it's still probably a pretty unwise thing to throw in a game in 20whenever.

So, that's not a pattern. GMs went form saying "hey you can have your lgbt guilds just don't talk about them" to "hey your guild is fine but I don't have a way to stop the automated tools from doing this again." They're both problems, but one can be ascribed much more maliciously. The other is more of an oversight - automated reporting tools tend to be really good for fast responses. In the case of name reporting though, a GM should've easily been able to flag a name as a appropriate and immune from autoban. That's an oversight from Blizzard, but without the malice of "don't talk about lgbt."

The Destiny thing people are thinking of is that Destiny 2 at launch had an issue where a piece of armor resembled symbols of “Kekistan,” a fictional nation often dreamed of and joked about by white nationalists.

Yeah the convo over 'is x thing deliberate or incidental??' misses the greater point that most of this poo poo is stuff that someone 1) probably actually did pick up on and raised as an issues, as we've heard time and again from ex-blizz people and 2) when the people with final say are historically almost entirely white guys, you end up with stuff that reflects what they consider a big deal/not a big deal.

There is a difference between discussing the racism inherent in a company that clearly has no one who will point out that their new design looks a lot like a KKK hood, and positing that there are secret nazis embedded in the art team. The latter has the risk of sending this thread down a very conspiratorial path that I would like to avoid.

Yeah and 'blizzard is lazy and overly relies on fascist imagery in some games' is a very different argument from 'art team is full of nazis/white supremacists/secret chuds' or w/e else (which imo is dumb and there's zero evidence of).

Hell, to their credit, the wow team instantly rolled that warlock design back and unambiguously ate crow. This literally may be the first good thing I've said about blizzard in months, but they responded to that exactly how they should have.
