I just called to schedule an appointment and the receptionist asked if I'd prefer a male doctor. I don't give a poo poo, I just want to get looked at. Feels like a baby boomer thing to be afraid of being looked at by someone of the opposite sex.

Some kind of internal pelvic pain btw.

I would never allow a female doctor to examine my balls.

Some people are weird about it. I’ve never cared, it’s hard enough to find a good doctor to begin with, I’m not gonna care what gender they are.

It's still pretty common for female problems to get dismissed by male doctors, unfortunately.

Very true and beyond that, just being able to relate can be helpful.

It shouldn't matter if the problem is your wrist or whatever, but if it's PRIVATE PARTS or anything related, there is going to be an aggregate benefit

I prefer a female doctor tbh (i'm male). Something about the doctor being a woman makes me open up more about what i'm feeling and I usually like the way they talk to me more.
Although it did feel a bit awkward when an attractive female doctor stuck a camera up my butt, but only for a minute.

If you're female, then yeah, there's loads of reasons to choose a female doctor if at all possible, especially if you're PoC.

In my experience younger doctors who are not so sure of themselves are more likely to look things up and ask for second opinions and specialist opinions.

Some older doctors do this too and it generally makes me trust them more than when they just kinda have an air of having all the answers instantly.

They've seen enough adult videos to know that if you get a doctor of the opposite sex then your chances of spontaneous casual sucking and loving go through the roof, and then you'll never get your medical concern taken care of.

What if I told you there were a bunch of adult videos where there same thing happens with same sex doctors?

Star Trek: The Motion Picture is a boring movie
I know the mrs prefers a female OBGYN. Does not feel comfortable with a male one. And to be honest, I don't blame her. I work in healthcare and I've seen tons of creepy male OBGYNs.

One time I had to see a dermatologist for a skin condition all over my body including my junk. The doctor who examined me (felt up my junk) was an extreeeeeeeeeeemely attractive resident. It definitely made me feel uncomfortable even though I know it's all clinical to them.

Also the whole forum/internet thing of 'this behavior or action I find weird must be a boomer thing' is getting really old.

Extremities, yes. Somehow a lot of torso problems manage to get blamed on the uterus. Loads of kidney/gallstones, ruptured cysts, and cancers are first diagnosed as, "It's your period. Go home and take some Tylenol."

Incidentally, the only time I had a butt problem I got a male doctor. I didn't care, but he was very apologetic.

I have a theory that the more detached from your body (in terms of the spectrum of personal to clinical), the happier you are. It also ups the chances you start naming your extremities and giving them different personalities.
