Goddamn, not being able to spot pisses me the gently caress off every time I play. I played BF3/4 heavily and only 1/V a bit, but gently caress me, I hate not being able to spot people with every character.

I don't mind a slow decline in the 'seriousness' of skins over time but I think people aren't unreasonable to be annoyed at the idea that there would be actual santa clauses running around the game within a month of it coming out

Anecdotally, the most recent patch seems to have improved performance for me a decent bit. Still bottlenecked by my CPU, but overall less noticeable. Also, I've been playing a bit more with the SCAR, and it turns out it's using Hi-Power ammo by default. I've just unlocked regular ammo, and suddenly it's way more controllable while not actually feeling any weaker at most common distances.

What people are referring to as a scoreboard is just literally a board with everybody's names, stats, and scores. Some people prefer no scoreboard for some reason I can't fathom? Isn't it human nature to want to know how you are performing versus the other people in the game? Like they never played competitive sports or anything? I know that striving to get to the top of the board is prime motivation for a lot of people to play well.

There's no need to compromise. Just turn off your chat, VOIP, and the binding for the scoreboard if you've got performance anxiety or give a poo poo what some rear end in a top hat in a game says.

I'm enjoying the game now that there's been some patches but I can't believe how bad the music is in this. In the previous ones you'd get some cool triumph music at the end of the game which really added a lot of atmosphere. This game just has this stupid bwaaamp bwaaamp poo poo with zero melody, its actually legitimately bad.

Likely yes but the problem is you would have to use free for all or tdm as a base and logic script a new score system from scratch while using smaller maps. Currently you cant do any logic scripting for conquest or rush which.... Sucks.

I'd forgotten about BF3 flashlights, but how ANYONE can forget about the tower on Shanghai crashing servers as it fell for 6 months still baffles me. BF1 didn't allow you to quit until you were in a match. EDIT: I recall BF2 was wildly unstable, also dolphin diving. Unrelated but the big DLC was a completely separate .exe that no one played after a month (ugh...those BF2/2142 era load times!). BF2142, my personal fav, you could crash servers by moving Titans. The article is 100% correct...I'd argue BF1 comes closest to a smooth launch. 2042 is pretty close and they seem to be pretty rapid on the fixes.
