I can't imagine any other purpose for that operation than actually sinking the light truck and its cargo.

Not that I would be stopping while on weak ice myself, just keep on truckin'.

It's not much pressure so any connection that weak would fall apart anyway. And yeah, all the junctions should be accessible anyway.

My washer/dryer are on the second floor in the middle of the house’s footprint, so it’s like a 20-30’ run to the outside with the ducting in the floor/ceiling between the floors. No, I had nothing to do with this design.

I hope you don't pay for this as it is trivial to stick an (electric) leaf blower into the dryer outlet and do the same thing.

Eh, it's around $50 (plus the $25 cash I flip the two guys that come out to buy lunch and/or some beers) they're here for less than 20 minutes and it they pull the stacked FULL SIZE units away from the wall (and put it back). It's worth it to me. The same way paying someone to take care of mowing the lawn and do spring/fall yard cleanup is worth it.

None of those are jobs I want to do and I am willing to pay to have it done.

It's entirely possible this is from some kind of built in vacuum system, where you just plug your hose into a wall socket and stuff gets sucked through ducts into the garage. My parents home has a thing like that, though they aren't idiots and keep it cleaned.
