If anyone thinks I wasn't sincere when I was mad that 2AW never made it online, in the week since discovering their stuff on VK I have watched 4 shoes & am just getting settled in for a double header. Initially thought I'd just watch the title matches but sod it, been fun catching up with Tank Nagai & Chicharito Shoki & Ayumu Honda & The Andrew King Takuma.

Schedule time. Going up today because I got my COVID booster AND flu vaccine all at once & figure there's at least a chance that catches up with me at some point tonight or tomorrow so finished that off while I still feel alive & human. As Noddy Holder yells, "IT'S CHRISTMAS" & that means that Japanese wrestling gets ramped up & really doesn't ramp down until the middle of January. Final Gate's card seems pretty alright, but I don't think there's been a better angle in wrestling this year than Masquerade's. Shun/Kota should be a really cool match, but the storytelling over the last several months has been incredible and the stakes of the match are great. Long story short, after Masquerade and R.E.D had been feuding all year, Shun deliberately sacrified his partner Dragon Dia in an apuestas tag match. This forced Dia to unmask, and their stablemate Kota Minoura hates Shun for it. Dragon Dia's rival Dia Inferno also unmasked because his gimmick has no reason to exist anymore, and revealed himself as Yuki Yoshioka, who Shun had repeatedly insisted was NOT Inferno. Shun thought he could fix things by getting the Triangle Gate belts back from R.E.D (which they did) after losing them decisively earlier in the year, but Kota & Jason Lee hate being co-champions with the guy who betrayed their friend. So if Kota wins at Final Gate, Shun leaves Masquerade and vacates the Triangle Gate titles. If Shun wins, Kota has a standing offer to become the "centerpiece" of Doi & Yoshida's new unit, in which case Masquerade would probably be done anyway because Shun's other partners hate him too.

I don't know Yukio Sakaguchi's or Eruption's history but I think maybe you have him and Suzuki fight each other separately and try to have Eruption vs Itoh Respect Army happen in the same ring.
