OK, I've tallied the results, written up the results, done the artwork and nearly half of the videos. Just need to do the other half of the videos, the user quotes and the commentary.

:siren:Pencil in 9PMEST on Tuesday for the countdown. If it doesn't happen then, it will be the same time Wednesday:siren:

This was something I suggested as it was the 10th year of doing the annual poll. Considering doing one that encompasses the noughties but still gotta get through this and the annual one

The thing is i know there were sort of threads on it because it was one of them where i discovered both Battlestar Galactica and The Wire (it was season three). I remember thinking "the gently caress is The Wire?". Maybe there werent an annual systemic award system but there were yearly best of threads.

Perpetual Grace is incredibly funny and the situations and character interactions are the real meat of the show anyway. I still felt satisfied with what we got, if you want something that hits the same tone and humour as Patriot while still being its own thing you can't go wrong with it. Jimmie Simpson is a perfect fit for a Steven Conrad show and I'd love to see more with him in it too.

I agree with all of that. I liked Ultra City Smiths more than Looten, it has some unbelievably hilarious moments, but the overall story isn’t very satisfying. Still, at 6 x 20 minute episodes you may as well watch it for the comedy and stacked cast.

You got to remember, at this point, it just takes one person placing something slightly higher than someone else on their list and it's going to result in a drastically different place.

I'd imagine shows like Search Party and Mythic Quest have been represented well in the yearly threads that people didn't feel the need to spotlight them here, that's certainly how I felt when considering shows like Succession for my list. It was top 3 on my list last year, and will probably be first on my list this year but I didn't nominate it for this poll.

Welcome Goons! It's time to begin the official countdown of TVIVs best of the decade poll. Thankyou all for your contributions, this has been a lot of fun. For the three of you that are watching this in real time, welcome aboard! I've been in COVID isolation for almost three weeks now, so this has been a good distraction. A couple of tidbits before we begin:

  • Please take the time after the poll to read peoples full nomination submissions for any shows that you think might interest you. Some people went to a lot of effort, so I'd like to give them a shout out and ensure their efforts didn't go to waste. They're certainly a lot more detailed than any commentary I'll be providing as the list is revealed, as I'll pretty much be doing it in real time.
  • Click the show banners for video tidbits. These were a pain to do, and my YT recommendations are probably going to go to poo poo now, so please watch. These obviously contain spoilers, but I've tried to keep them relatively minor. There are shows on this list that I've not seen though, so I can't guarantee that's the case for everything.

Let the poll begin
