so uh what's to stop anyone from just minting a new nft with the same input image and then making that their twitter profile?

you can click the NFT picture and see that the nft is fake! because it's in a collection not verified on opensea, the centralized platform for all your decentralized token needs

I wonder how well tested the nft integration in twitter is, bet you could do some mad exploits by abusing the "traits" that apparently is 100% controlled by the nft contract code, read: YOUR code here

edit: actually I was wrong, the "traits" thing is controlled by the JSON metadata from an URL of your choice, so you don't even need to modify the smart contract stuff

hey you see that monkey picture there? i own it! look, here's the nft. and here's the certificate of authenticity for that nft. and here's the thrid party peer review of the nft authentication service proving that they're legitimate.

we monitor many frequencies. we listen always. came a voice, out of the babel of tongues, speaking to us. it played us a mighty dub.
weird, it's almost as if blockchains are absolutely useless for provenance or proof of ownership of artwork.

i mean, that'd be loving wild, right?

if you still need someone trusted to verify authenticity, the blockchain would be, like, entirely loving superfluous

it's still trivial to deanonymize, it's just useless for ensuring uniqueness and no matter what the blockchain says, possession is still 9/10ths of the law
