The Boeing 737-200QC is the undisputed workhorse of the skies.
Between the announcement and the end of the Kickstarter, it went from Squadron 42 to The Metaverse: In Space.

One of those things isn’t achievable.

The original game from the original pitch was Squadron 42, which was basically supposed to be some kind of space opera in the same vein as Wing Commander, Freelancer, TIE Fighter, Colony Wars, etc. On its own, it was a perfectly reasonable, perfectly achievable goal. It was probably overambitious for a new studio's first project on the timeframe that was being batted around at the time--one year of development already in (a lie), two or three more years for the release of a finished product--but there was nothing inherently wrong with the product Roberts pitched. The problem was that it was Roberts pitching the product.

Kings need not raise their voices to be heard

I was going to stop my subscription and not buy the Hover Quad. All this whining has made me buy and resub. Treat humans better people and stop dehumanizing the developers. Negativity just brings misery to your life posted:

This drama is the most entertaining thing people make mistakes and intent misconstrued. CIG making record profits the last two years. expanding by a thousand developers and new studio, CIG making investments and third-party acquisitions, and still people think the game will not be finished or is not being worked on. Server meshing is holding up the PU. Until resolved all content work is going to SQ42. SQ42 content helps the PU content to a large extent ultimately. Yes, there is only currently 1 star system, more are being worked on. Yes, procedural tools are being developed to help speed this up plus the acquisition of a whole additional studio. If this game fails, they are doing a really bad job at failing. I actually was about to just stop backing and playing for a while but all the whining just had the opposite effect on me. I'm gonna back just because of all the hate. Hope everyone has a better more positive day. Do something good in the world enough pain and conflict as is.

Its really pathetic someone who has spent as much money as Shoeii doesnt understand they are still developing it.

Like space fauna, you have to animate everything, have sounds, and even if its there does it have a purpose?

Shoeii doesnt care, shoeii clearly doesnt care at all and is just hear to make obscure complaints.

None of these things have been abandoned. And CIG should not respond to Shoeii because Shoeii is not being professional and intelligent.

None of these things are abandoned.

A room system? Its way to early to be worried about that. Think about all the things that could go wrong if they put that on the live servers.

And the consequences of bugs and such clearly does not matter to anyone.

I really find the White Knight term to be very racist.

Are you a white person? Im a white person.

Also, if your defedning shoeii by assuming anyone who "defends" cig is a white knight, aren't you just name calling, and defending, aren't you the white knight.

I really dont like that when I swear at people like you fire5tar for putting absolutely no effort into their posts, I get banned.

I really feel like swearing at you is a better alternative then confronting you like this. Because this takes so much more energy.

Im just really curious to how you can be so unintelligent as to go around calling people names, but then not swearing, and just saying, "White knight."

You're coward who can't even name call people because you dont want to use vulgarity in some vein attempt at superiority.

In every way and form, you are the White Knight.

It's interesting that CIG hasn't pivoted to selling NFTs yet. At face value it seems like exactly the kind of overpriced fake digital value they've been selling all along. Perhaps they're straight up too incompetent and disorganized? Seems to be the vibe from the latest roadmap issues at least.

NFTs ARE Star citizen spaceship jpegs. It’s impossible not to think they weren’t inspired by them. But with NFTs there’s all kinds of fees from all the marketplaces and blockchains who take massive cuts when money is put in, when an NFT is listed and sold and when money comes out. But CIG keeps the entire enchilada.

I don’t know why this is bothering me, but this is an old joke and they screwed up the punchline.

The last line should be, ‘A coconut fell on the elephant’s head and she said, “ouch,” and the mouse said, “yeah, take it all bitch.”’

Is it a great joke? No. But with the right punchline it at least makes sense.

A friend of mine, a well known SC pilot, was somewhat amazed to find upon downloading Star Wars Squadron that his entire playstyle and keybinds were copied and pasted into Squadrons. Not just the keybinds, but everything was laid out according to his 3.10 workflow.

It would not surprise me if CIG were using their environment as a testbed for other developers to test their projected gameplay styles. It would certainly explain the wild swing towards arcade combat in the last patch.

quote:

Wait, so he thinks that another developer was experimenting on him using SC and stole his, his specifically, keybinds and built a whole game around it?

Oh yeah, totally doesn’t sound crazy.

quote:

No.

He thinks it might be possible that other developers use SC's tools and data, potentially licensed or sold by CIG, (or not) in order to refine what they want out of their similar titles. That they settled on one of the best p[layers workflows wouldn't be remotely surprising; and would support @GreySix admittedly throwaway hypothesis. I mean yeah, you're right nobody sells data in this day and age :eyeroll:

It's pretty crazy when I buy a new game and it just, by default, uses WASD movement. Sometimes it even maps E and Q and R to frequently used commands by default. I definitely made it up. I started doing it back when I was playing WoW and it was not the default back then.

IMO, I deserve compensation for discovering the most optimal control scheme.

You spent 8 years in corporate espionage school and near as long receiving bullshit rookie assignments like sorting through garbage stolen from corporate dumpsters and "losing" malware infested USB drives in parking lots, but it all pays off when the boss finally gives you the big shot mission you've been waiting for.

The dossier you're handed contains the name and profile of a well known Star Citizen player. The cream of the crop. You know who I mean.

Your mission: Infiltrate Roberts Space Industries and secure the player's user account settings. Take everything you can find: graphics settings, sound settings, mouse sensitivity, whatever you can get your hands on, it could all be important. But your #1 priority, the item that will mark the success or failure of this mission, is keybindings. Our customer needs those keybindings for their upcoming title. Good luck!

Attached to the final page is a plastic tab containing a cyanide capsule. You discretely pop it out and tuck it into the compartment of your false tooth. Later that evening, you hug your wife and remind her she means the world to you. "What's wrong?" she asks, sensing the unusually serious tone. "Oh n.. nothing... what? Can't a fella tell his wife he loves her now and then?" She sees right through it, of course, but loves you too much to stand in your way.
