Yeah Lebron getting in his face is kinda weird considering Scottie's not the one who whipped a ball at his head. Barnes couldn't have handled that any better

Joe Vardon had a good article about Oladipo's injury trouble. The story is that he had a quad tear surgery that was botched. He sat out a year, came back, and then had to get the surgery again. He's probably done.
https://theathletic.com/3179546/2022/03/14/heats-victor-oladipo-opens-up-about-struggles-beyond-surgery-the-world-forgot-about-me/

I'm wondering about the backstory on Isaac's ACL. It's looking like he got seriously botched. No one takes two years from an ACL. As Doltos said, that's a horrible timeline for a geriatric patient in poor physical health.

Both guys may have massive malpractice lawsuits in their future, as Oladipo's lost out on probably 80m as a result, and Isaacs could miss another huge contract after this extension expires.

Is it just me or have we had a lot of players scoring 50-60 points in the last couple weeks? I guess everyone is getting tired of playing defense. LeBron and Irving twice, KAT and Durant. Jokic and Curry got close too.

What’s the most 50+ point games in a month?

*Stupid Babby*

I'm sure it's just a month in 1961-62 when Wilt was doing his crazy poo poo.

edit:

quote:

The last month with more 50-point games in the NBA was nearly six decades ago — all the way back to December 1962. There were nine of them that month, six by Wilt Chamberlain of the San Francisco Warriors, the other three by Elgin Baylor of the Lakers.

WhyteRyce

Davion Mitchell was a Monte pick. He'd been scouting him and keeping an eye on him for years before the draft. If Vivek was tampering with things someone from the front office like Wes Wilcox would have leaked something out.

And really, Vivek does some dumb stuff but I don't think drafting a third PG would be something he has on his bingo card

My understanding is scoring for teams across the league is down this year. This is mainly because the rule changes between seasons. It seems like there are more 50+ games by individual players this season. What is going on to cause this? Is the league just that stacked with elite talent rn?

They reverted the emphasis on those rule changes so scoring is back up.

I am down with this analogy if the title year in Cleveland is the corollary to The Rock doing Ballers or something.

ORTG (points per 100 possessions) is slightly down from last season but higher than any other season, so last season was probably just artificially higher because it was a condensed, lockout season. Pace is slightly down though so straight PPG is between 2018 and 2019 levels (which was a huge statistical jump in pace and ORTG).

It is the lowest free throw rate season since 1947 though.

It’s lovely. Even the free throw takingest teams like Philly and Houston aren’t too bad, though it seems worse with Philly because harden and Embiid take 20 of philly’s 24 a game and are obnoxious about getting them.

The PER race between Jokic and Giannis is good this year and also historic:

code:
Player PER	Season
Nikola Jokic 32.37	2021-22
Giannis Antetokounmpo	32.36	2021-22
Giannis Antetokounmpo	31.86	2019-20
Wilt Chamberlain	31.82	1962-63
Wilt Chamberlain	31.76	1961-62
Michael Jordan 31.71	1987-88
LeBron James 31.67	2008-09

If LBJ did this to RW and THT:
https://looptube.io/?videoId=j3OWAimdR7k&start=119.7&end=125.1734513274336&rate=1

One weird trick to shore up the Lakers offense.

I still like Milwaukee more than Miami so I'm guessing rematch. Boring but seems most likely to me right now. Miami has a puncher's chance, as does Brooklyn and maybe even Philly or Chicago if they get back to how they were. East has some options.

The Bulls D has been worsening. It's the same problem the Nuggets have. Abysmal D for teams hoping to make the finals. OTOH, the Heat have one of the better Ds.

I fear Harden will collapse completely in the playoffs again for the nth time.
